One of my favorite web series out on the web is The Guild and when I found out that Dark Horse was coming out with a one-shot comic book about the characters from the show I just knew I had to read it.

The Guild: Clara in particular is about Clara who is the lovable but ignorant member of the group. The story starts with an in-game meeting in the MMORPG that they play, while in the meeting Clara’s husband starts getting angry with her about not cleaning up their bedroom that has all of their moving boxes from 10 months back. He gives her an ultimatum that if she doesn’t clean the room by the end of the weekend, she can’t play the game for a week. Clara, while cleaning the room with her kids, stumbles upon all of her keepsakes and starts telling the stories behind each one. Her husband comes home and is surprised that she has kept all of these keepsakes.

Geeks of Doom Invades: Dragon*Con 2011

The Guild PanelThe leading ladies from hit web series The Guild made their way to Atlanta this weekend to join in the geeky celebration that is Dragon*Con 2011. And fortunately for us, they even participated in some panels about the show.

Amy Okuda (Tinkerballa), Robin Thorsen (Clara), and creator/star Felicia Day (Codex) spoke about their past experiences working on The Guild as well as what fans can expect from the next few episodes and future seasons of the show.

If you didn’t already know (and if you’re reading this far into the article, you probably should), The Guild began its fifth season in late July. The most recent episode, Revolving Doors, aired on the show’s official website this week.

Everyone knows Felicia Day as the creator of the ultra-popular web-series, The Guild, and as one of the great Geek Goddesses of this Earth of ours. She’s also known from her work on things like Joss Whedon’s hit show and musical Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Dr. Horrible’s Sing-Along Blog.

Now, after offering her voice to a role in Fallout: New Vegas, Day is stepping back into the realms of video games. It’s been announced that the actress will star in a six-episode web series based on the highly successful BioWare titles Dragon Age: Origins and Dragon Age II.

The live-action series, titled Dragon Age: Redemption, will also be set in Ferelden, where Day will play an original character named Tallis. Of her character, Day said “Tallis is headstrong, she fights dirty, and she has a really sarcastic sense of humor,” she says. “I wanted to bring a modern sensibility to a fantasy character in a fantasy world.”

The Guild
Season 3 DVD
Directed Sean Becker
Starring Felicia Day, Jeff Lewis
Release date: May 25, 2010

Are you a gamer? Have you ever played an M.M.O.R.P.G.? Do you like comedy? If you said yes to any of these questions, then The Guild is a show for you. This is one of my favorite shows and every time the DVDs come out, I buy them right away. The Guild: Season 1 DVD was no exception as I was extremely excited for this season, as much if not more than I was the first two seasons. As with Kevin Smith movies, the special features make it worth the price alone.

Basically, The Guild follows a group of World of Warcraft players, although it isn’t referred to as that specifically it is meant to be that game, who form a guild and through the guild discuss their issues. Most of the time they don’t realize that they are helping each other become less dysfunctional. All of them have a different personality and different social issues and they all need each other to call each other on their crap. This is the basics of the show as a whole.
