Well metalheads, that time of the year has come around again. Black Metal Band Tombs Launch Their Own Beer Containing Notes Of Marijuana

It seems that you just can’t really say that your band has “made it” these days until you have your own brand of beer. Bands from across the spectrum of rock from Iron Maiden to Pig Destroyer to AC/DC to Pearl Jam are entering the brewing game these days.

Now comes the news that Brooklyn-based black metal band Tombs has upped the ante by launching an IPA containing “enormous notes of white grape, green pepper, mango, and marijuana.” The beer is being brewed by Tired Hands Brewing Company out of Ardmore, PA, and shares its name with Tombs’ spectacular new album Savage Gold (click here for my review of the record).

When one hears the term “black metal,” the first thing that springs to mind might be a bunch of guys in black leather and spikes with corpse paint, burning churches and murdering their way across Scandinavian countries. The last image that the name of this often-feared and misunderstood genre evokes would be an average-looking bunch of guys in street clothes from Brooklyn, New York. But that is exactly what Mike Hill and his band Tombs are. In fact, they are on the cutting edge of the genre.
