| ‘Cats’ Trailer: Now It Is Time To Make The Choice
Cats, from director Tom Hooper, promises to be the biggest musical film event of the year. With catnip, digitized fur, images of luxurious parties, and an all-star cast including Jennifer Hudson, Idris Elba, Taylor Swift, James Cordon, Rebel Wilson, Jason Derulo, Judi Dench, and newcomer Francesca Hayward. The film adaptation of Andrew Lloyd Webber‘s famous Broadway musical is quite indescribable. Now Universal has released a brand new trailer for the upcoming film, which will have more dancing and more feline antics. You can find the first trailer right here if you missed it. | Edgar Wright Announces New Film Project ‘Baby Driver’
Never one to allow depressing developments to deter him from doing that which he loves, filmmaker Edgar Wright has walked away from the collapse of his version of Ant-Man at Marvel Studios a bit older and wiser than before, and is heading full blast into his next film project to be titled Baby Driver. Wright, who also wrote the screenplay, will be making his first original feature since completing the “Three Flavors Cornetto” trilogy last year with The World’s End. Deadline’s Mike Fleming Jr. had Baby Driver described to him as “a collision of crime, action, music and sound.” A pretty vague description but one that seems perfectly within Wright’s creative wheelhouse. The project is set up at the director’s longtime home Working Title Films and will be produced by Tim Bevan, Eric Fellner, and Nira Park, Wright’s producers on Shaun of the Dead, Hot Fuzz, and The World’s End.

| Live-Action ‘Little Mermaid’ To Be Directed By Sofia Coppola
Back in 2010 we found out about a new live-action movie adaptation of Hans Christian Andersen‘s fairy tale The Little Mermaid being developed by Atonement and Hanna director Joe Wright for Universal Pictures and Working Title Films. Much time has passed and and Wright is no longer attached, but now a new director has stepped in. It’s being reported that Sofia Coppola, writer and director of Lost in Translation (which she won a Best Original Screenplay Oscar for), will now direct the movie.
