‘X-Men: Apocalypse’ Will Have A Mutant Fight Club Says Bryan Singer

The first rule of Fight Club is that you don’t talk about Fight Club. But how could someone not break that rule when it involves mutants? In the many X-Men and Wolverine films we’ve seen, the mutants always seem to be at odds, with the human factor also posing a threat to peace between mutants and Homo sapiens. Each mutant conflict is almost always for the survival of humanity, but at times when we see Professor X and Magneto on opposing sides it’s for their respective ideology/

Now X-Men: Apocalypse will bring in a new fight to the mutants. A mutant fight club will be seen in the upcoming sequel according to director Bryan Singer. More on the story and images below.

X-Men

Marvel Studios and Marvel Television have been working together to tie the MCU universe together in one neat package. With the amount of characters they own, they are allowed to expand their shows and films under their collective universe, and who knows, maybe at one point we may even see Spider-Man in the picture. But for Fox, they are unable to sit at the Marvel table. However, they do own the rights to some pretty big name Marvel brands like X-Men and Fantastic Four.

With the success of Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., Agent Carter, and the Netflix series Daredevil on the small screen, and the CW and WB continuing to grow their DC universe with shows like Legends of Tomorrow, Fox wants in on the superhero television series action, and they want to do it with the characters they already own. Over at the TCAs, it has been revealed that there are plans for Fox to launch a live-action X-Men TV series.

Fantastic Four Space

Many doubted the Josh Trank‘s Fantastic Four since plot and character details started hitting the web. Whether it’s the issue of Dr. Doom being an angry blogger, changes to the character’s powers, or trouble behind-the-scenes, it looked like the reboot was going to be a massive flop, not to mention the trailer lowered expectations. But a surprise advanced screening of the film may have proven doubters wrong, as the general audience who were lucky enough to see it had nothing but praise.

Now with just a few days left before the film’s release, 20th Century Fox is making one last push to convince you to see the reboot of Fantastic Four with an all new four-minute preview. The studio even got some help from a certain Merc with a Mouth. Check out the preview below.

X-Men and Fantastic Four

Though Disney owns a majority of the Marvel properties, and is sharing Spider-Man with Sony, they don’t own the rights to X-Men and Fantastic Four. Those two belong to Fox.

While Disney and Marvel can expand on characters through films and televised series connecting them to the MCU, Fox doesn’t share that luxury, and are confined to their own universe. It only makes sense that they build their own version of the MCU using what they have, all culminating in a mega crossover event between the two superhero teams al a Marvel Studios’ The Avengers.
