Bryan Singer has used Twitter to offer first looks at characters such as Storm, and now he’s given fans the first image of Ellen Page as Kitty Pryde. Page played the character previously in 2006’s X-Men: The Last Stand.

In 1981’s Days of Future Past comic storyline, Kitty Pryde is one of the primary characters. An adult Kitty Pryde from an apocalyptic future transfers her mind into present-day Kitty Pryde, who assembles the X-Men to prevent a possible future in which mutants are held captive in prison camps and, in some cases, exterminated.

It’s the 50th anniversary for Marvel’s X-Men, and Marvel has some big plans for everyone’s favorite mutants. Announced at C2E2 in Chicago, this fall will see the release of X-Men: Battle of the Atom, a ten issue event launching in September with Battle of the Atom #1. The story will then crossover between the regular issues of All-New X-Men, Uncanny X-Men, Wolverine and the X-Men, and X-Men for two months before wrapping up in Battle of the Atom #2.

Bryan Singer‘s X-Men: Days of Future Past is scheduled to hit theaters on July 18, 2014, but you won’t have to wait that long to catch a glimpse of Halle Berry reprising the role of Ororo Munroe, better known as Storm.

This will be Berry’s fourth film as the Mistress of the Elements, and she’ll be sporting a brand new hairstyle for the gig. Singer released the following image on Twitter along with the title “Storm Watch.” You can check out Berry’s new hairstyle – and her new X-Men threads here after the jump!

Marvel Comics has relaunched their Marvel #1 promotion, where the publisher is giving new and long-time Marvel Comics fans the opportunity to read 700 classic and modern first issues of their comics for free.

These issues are of course digital versions of these comics that will be made available through Marvel’s various digital outlets. The publisher’s first attempt at releasing these comics was met with such a huge crush of fans that crashed the system. After some retooling and an all-new plan, the free #1’s are back.

Earlier this week, we saw 6 seconds of director James Mangold‘s The Wolverine. Today, Twentieth Century Fox has unveiled the first official trailers (domestic and international) for the upcoming film.

Based on the celebrated comic book arc by Chris Claremont and Frank Miller, The Wolverine finds Logan (Hugh Jackman) traveling to Japan to start a new life after the events of X-Men: The Last Stand (the third X-Men film). In Japan, he encounters the enigmatic Silver Samurai, played by Will Yun Lee, as well as Viper (Svetlana Khodchenkova) and Yukio (Rila Fukushima).
