| Django / Zorro Crossover Movie On The Way From Quentin Tarantino and Jerrod Carmichael
Crossovers are a pretty big movie event. Of course, many of them come from Marvel Studios and DC films. However, there is an unexpected one that some of us probably never saw coming. Reports say that Quentin Tarantino will be working with The Carmichael Show creator and writer Jerrod Carmichael to co-write a Django and Zorro crossover adaptation of the comic book that was written by Tarantino and published by Dynamite Entertainment and DC Comics. | Gael GarcÃa Bernal Leads Jonás Cuarón’s ‘Zorro’ Reboot
Gael GarcÃa Bernal may not be the most familiar face, but he is signing on to a project that will hopefully make him more of a household name. New reports confirm that the actor will now play the swashbuckling hero Zorro from Jonás Cuarón, son of Gravity‘s Alfonso Cuarón, in the reboot simply titled Z. More on the story below.

| Post-Apocalyptic ‘Zorro’ Movie Being Developed |

A new futuristic take on the story of Zorro titled Zorro Reborn has been in the works for many years now, with Y Tu Mamá También, Amores Perros, and The Motorcycle Diaries star Gael Garcia Bernal once attached to star in the movie for 20th Century Fox. Other names that were mentioned as potential writers and directors as they tried to make the movie happen include Bryan Singer, Ricardo de Montreuil, Gary Whitta, and Justin Marks. But in the end, it never happened. Now the movie is no longer set up at Fox, but it is ready to make another run at becoming a reality. It’s being reported that Zorro Reborn is now set up at Lantica Media, and it is interestingly described as a “post-apocalyptic take on the myth” that’s set in the near future but still maintains the whole mysterious stranger wearing a mask and cape working against oppressors in the best interest of the less fortunate. Whether this is the same “futuristic” idea that’s been planned all along or if the post-apocalyptic twist is a new spin on it is unclear at the moment.

| ‘Zorro’ Reboot To Get ‘Dark Knight’-Like Origin Story; Chris Boal To Pen The ScriptHollywood’s obsession with giving audiences a dark and gritty origins story continues with Sony’s planned Zorro film. While many of those stories have focused on comic book heroes, Sony plans to give a new darker origins story to the swashbuckling Zorro. This has been planned for quite a while actually, with some of the stories falling through the cracks. But now the studio has hired Chris Boal (brother of The Hurt Locker‘s Mark Boal) to pen the script. According to Deadline, Sony’s Zorro movie won’t be a traditional swashbuckler, but instead will go way of The Dark Knight:
