I have a feeling The Avengers is going to be one of the most entertaining movies we see this year. Last night the film was screened for critics and the overall reaction was extremely positive. Make no mistake, the expectations for this movie are higher than any comic book-based blockbuster made to date with the possible exception of the upcoming The Dark Knight Rises. At least we can take some comfort in knowing that it delivers where it counts, and then some.
Now, Paramount Pictures and Marvel Studios have released a brand new image of the Hulk as rendered by FX artisans Industrial Light and Magic. You can check it out here below.
At this point I don’t need any further coercion to see The Avengers. I was sold on this movie from the moment Samuel L. Jackson uttered the words “Avenger Initiative” at the end of the original Iron Man. But that Hulk image is… astounding. Amazing. Epic. The best the legendary character has looked on screen to date. After two movies of watching the Hulk go on angry rampages and occasionally do some good it’s just candy for my soul to see him kicking some real ass and being a hero. I couldn’t be happier that this movie has been made.
Upon closer inspection I see that the Hulk has a nosebleed. Maybe that’s why he looks so distressed.
The Avengers opens on May 4, 2012. You know you’re going to see it. Yes, you are. Admit it.
