Another day, another pretty fantastic fan film to be enjoyed.
This time around it’s the ultra-popular Brian K. Vaughan and Pia Guerra graphic novel Y: The Last Man, which has been inside the Hollywood machine for multiple years now as attempted adaptations have failed over and over, getting the fan film treatment with Y: The Last Man Rising. But this isn’t your basic backyard fan film; no, no—this is a 21-minute small-scale blockbuster with a full cast and crew and some impressive special effects work.
The short covers two critical moments from Vaughan and Guerra’s work: the event that killed off almost every man, and the Amazons discovering that one man, Yorick Brown, is still alive.
You can check out Y: The Last Man Rising below!
Now, anyone who’s read Y: The Last Man hopes that it ends up as a TV series on HBO or somewhere along those lines, that’s no secret. Still, if it has to be a movie we ultimately get, maybe this will help to open some procrastinating eyes.
