Recently we found out that Netflix and Marvel were joining forces to produce four new live-action series for the streaming service based on four different comic book characters, each running 13 episodes and then concluding with the four joining forces to create The Defenders in a special miniseries.
One of the four characters—the most recognizable, thanks in part to a certain Ben Affleck motion picture—is Daredevil, the “Man Without Fear,” who was blinded in an accident when he was young, heightening his other senses to superhuman levels.
Now, according to sources, a writer has been found for the series. It’s being reported that LOST writer/producer and The Cabin in the Woods writer/director Drew Goddard has entered into negotiations to pen the series.
Goddard has risen among the likes of Joss Whedon and J.J. Abrams. In the addition to LOST and Cabin in the Woods (which he co-wrote with Whedon), he was a writer on various episodes of Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Angel, and was a writer and producer on Alias. He also worked on the screenplays for the Abrams-produced Cloverfield, and recent Brad Pitt flick World War Z.
What do you think about Drew Goddard writing the Daredevil series for Netflix?
