Star Trek Into Darkness: Spock and Kirk

With Star Trek reboot director J.J. Abrams jumping over to the other side to take on Star Wars: Episode VII, obviously he was not going to have the time to make Star Trek 3 for Paramount.

But who will replace Abrams? That’s a question that still exists, but according to a report, Paramount is looking at Attack the Block director Joe Cornish for the job.

Dead Island Cinematic Reveal Trailer

Remember that brilliant first cinematic trailer for Dead Island a couple of years back? It was so good it instantly put the game on most people’s radar without even seeing any gameplay, and maybe even elevated some people’s expectations for the game higher than the final product could live up to.

Now that trailer is resurfacing in the form of a shot-for-shot fan-made live-action remake, which, as you might imagine, probably wasn’t the easiest thing in the world to shoot and edit together to match the original.

As part of their monthly MP3 album deals, Amazon has Pearl Jam‘s Ten on sale for only 5.00 in MP3 format. The CD is currently $6.49 and is an “AutoRip” selection, which means if you purchase the CD, you’ll ALSO get the MP3 download for FREE.

Released in 1992, Ten marks the debut for the Seattle band, created from the ashes of Mother Love Bone to become one of the crown princes of Grunge and now one of the greats in rock history. The album contains such memorable tracks as “Even Flow,” “Jeremy,” “Once,” “Black,” and “Alive,” which right there is enough to warrant the $3 purchase, but Ten truly is perfect from start to finish.

Of note, Pearl Jam’s sophomore effort, Vs., is available on MP3 and CD (also an AutoRip) for only $6.99 (this is the Expanded Edition of the album).

Watch Now: Video Of ‘Trick ‘r Treat 2’ Being Announced

A few years back when we finally got to see the long delayed anthology flick Trick ‘r Treat, it quickly became many people’s favorite Halloween movie. And understandably so—it really is the perfect movie to watch on Halloween night after all the trick or treaters have come and gone. The Christmas Story of Halloween movies, if you will.

Since then the passionate fanbase has only grown larger and larger, as has the demand for a sequel. Those wishes were finally granted at a screening of the movie recently where Trick ‘r Treat 2 was officially announced, much to the delight of fans.

Legendary Pictures has released a video from that same screening, which includes cast and crew discussing the original and its legacy, and also shows the big announcement. You can watch the video below.

DC/Vertigo Comics’ Long Running Series ‘Fables’ To End With Issue #150

Fables by James Jean

Bill Willingham, writer of the long running DC/Vertigo comic Fables has announced that the series will be wrapping up with issue #150, which barring delays should come out in early 2015.

Willingham said in the announcement that not only would he be bringing Fables to an end, but would also be retiring from a great deal of his comics work. Going along with this, Willingham said that the companion series Fairest will also be wrapping up around the same time Fables comes to an end.
