In addition to announcing the premiere dates for the next season of Game of Thrones and other shows, HBO has also announced the end of another big title of theirs.
After its fifth season, which was announced back in September, Boardwalk Empire will come to an end. The show joins True Blood, which will be ending after its seventh season this summer.
President of HBO programming Michael Lombardo, who made the announcement, said:
“It has been an incredible honor to bring this powerful and groundbreaking series to our subscribers. Terry Winter has created one for the ages.”
With Winter adding:
“We’re thrilled to get the go-ahead for a fifth season of BOARDWALK EMPIRE. After much discussion with my creative team and HBO, we’ve decided to wrap up the series after such a great run and look forward to bringing it to a powerful and exciting conclusion.”
The fifth and final season of Boardwalk Empire will begin later this year in the fall.
I’ll miss the tits and ass scenes so artfully wedged into every episode.

Boardwalk Empire is ending.
Justified, barrowing some unforeseen development, will end with Season six.
Two of my favorite shows. Gone.
