Back in early 2012 we found out about a movie adaptation of the popular book series Goosebumps, and a year ago it was reported that director Rob Letterman was attached to make the movie.
Now comes word that Sony Pictures has set an official release date of March 23, 2016 for the movie, which will feature School of Rock and Kung Fu Panda star Jack Black.
Goosebumps is based on a series of horror books aimed at younger readers, and comes from author R.L. Stine, who published an astounding 62 books in the original series from 1992 to 1997 starting with Welcome to Dead House. There has also been numerous spinoff books published.
Director Letterman has previously made Shark Tale, Monsters vs. Aliens, Gulliver’s Travels, two of which starred Black.
