Once Upon a Time
Season 4 Episode 20: “Lily”
Directed by Ralph Hemecker
Written by Andrew Chambliss, Dana Horgan
Created by Edward Kitsis, Adam Horowitz
Starring Ginnifer Goodwin, Jennifer Morrison, Lana Parrilla, Josh Dallas, Emilie de Ravin, Colin O’Donoghue, Jared Gilmore, Robert Carlyle
ABC
Air Date: Sunday, April 26th, 2015, 8:00pm Last week’s Once Upon A Time went into Cruela De Vil’s (Victoria Smurfit) history. At first we thought her a victim of her mother’s cruel imprisonment. We were fooled and so was the author. That was the twist I mentioned last week. The entire time we were completely taken in. That’s the way of fairy tales, no? The beautiful damsel with the terrible life is a victim of cruel yet uglier people. After giving her the power to control animals, he countered her cruelty by rendering her unable to take a life. Emma (Jennifer Morrison), not knowing that, was orchestrated into killing her, in order to save Henry. Regina (Lana Parilla) grabbed heart leverage in order to be able to save Robin (Sean Maguire) without Gold (Robert Carlyle) sending out a warning.

Conan/Red Sonja #4 is the perfect ending to what, in my opinion, was the perfect example of a inter-company crossover. For the past three issues, two of fantasy’s most popular characters have fought, loved, and been comrades in arms. Now, with the fate of the entire universe at stake, can even they protect it? Writers Gail Simone and Jim Zub continue their excellent tale of Conan and Red Sonja. What I’ve loved most about this series, and this issue in particular, is that it was more of a team-up than a crossover, and that both characters get equal billing and “page-time.” Each has their share of story to carry and each has their own weight to pull when it comes to the overall adventure. This issue is a fitting end to the series. I won’t spoil the ending, but it’s perfect.

Created by Kevin Williamson
Written by Michael McGrale
Starring Kevin Bacon, James Purefoy, Shawn Ashmore, Sam Underwood, Valerie Cruz, Jessica Stroup, Michael Ealy, Zuleikha Robinson
FOX
Air Date: Monday, April 27th, 2015, 9:00pm Last week on The Following, Ryan Hardy’s current nemesis met his arch nemesis when Theo (Michael Ealy) spoke with Joe Carroll (James Purefoy) through a prison guard avatar. Theo needed Joe to help him find Strauss’s other disciples, and in exchange he promised to kill Ryan (Kevin Bacon) and give Joe eternal infamy. Joe, however, had other plans, dispatching of Theo’s accomplice and claiming Ryan as his own. It’s all rather touching in some strange horrific way. Tonight, Joe Carroll walks the Green Mile… yeah right! Do not continue if you haven’t watched last night’s episode – definite spoilers!
