Last week’s Brooklyn Nine-Nine was hilarious even without my Gina (Chelsea Peretti) having a major role. Jake (Andy Samberg) broke bones during a chase running over cars, when he fell into a car via sunroof. He was forced to take time off to heal, but even then… he still didn’t listen. He tricked Charles (Joe Lo Truglio) into a fake vacation. Terry (Terry Crews) had to come to Atlantic City to yell at him (and help him).
Meanwhile Rosa (Stephanie Beatriz) and Marcus (Nick Cannon) do the double date thing with Captain Holt (Andre Braugher) and Kevin (Marc Evan Jackson). Our 99 members have big trouble with feelings and well… talking, so it’s awkward hilarity.
Brooklyn Nine-Nine 2.21 “Det. Dave Majors” review: First of all… Rosa walks in wearing a bright pink shirt and they are all floored. Terry suggests a twin theory.
Gina: “If Rosa had a twin, she would have eaten her in the womb.” Love her!
Terry might leave! What? He needs money and a private security is wooing him with swag and the promise of easer hours and higher pay. Terry has a growing family to support you know. Gina and Charles are flipping out in the funniest way possible trying to get Terry to stay. It seems as Captain Holt is trying to do the opposite. You know Captain Holt though. He is very tricky. I’m so glad Gina has a major storyline this episode. My favorite girl should always have a major part.
Santiago (Melissa Fumero) and Jake are teamed up with Det. Dave Majors (guest star – Raising Hope‘s Garret Dillahunt), the best cop in the NYPD, to solve a string of robberies across the two precincts. They try to seem super cool in front of him, but can’t help being dorks. After getting actual good dating advice from Rosa (surprising because she’s so bad at it), Jake is ready to talk to Santiago about how he feels about her. But superstar Majors tells Jake he wants to ask her out after the case is closed. What will Jake do? Slow down the investigation? Ask her out before Majors does? Wuss out completely? Make a grand gesture?
You have to watch to find out!
New expression – “double-tuck.”
