Batman v Superman Dawn of Justice Trailer Doomsday

2016 will see two movies about two legendary heroes at odds and forced to fight each other by some outside force. It’s a bit perplexing as to why WB didn’t release the trailer for Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice during their Flash and Arrow annual crossover episode and decided to debut the trailer during Jimmy Kimmel Live, which airs on ABC, a Disney owned network, but I digress. The fact of the matter is, we are getting a new trailer for Dawn of Justice, and after a lackluster teaser, and a fairly descent Comic-Con trailer, this latest one will surely have comic book fans (yes even the Marvel ones) excited for this one.

Check out the latest trailer for the film below.

The beginning of the trailer already puts Clark Kent and Bruce Wayne at odds with each other, and I’m not talking about as their superhero personas but their secret identities, with Kent believing that Batman has the people of Gotham “living in fear” and that “he is above the law”, while Wayne believes that the Daily Planet criticizing those who are above the law is “hypocritical.” But this particular scene also establishes how long Bruce Wayne has been a hero as he quips “Maybe it is the Gotham City in me. We just have a bad history with freaks dressed like clowns.”

Of course that’s when we see the manipulative Lex Luthor barge in with his charm. But as the trailer slowly begins to reveal the plot, we see that it is Lex who is pulling the strings, and apparently he wants to see the two heroic gladiators fight in a death match.

Much of what was rumored from Lex Luthor obtaining General Zod’s body and using his genes to create a weapon has been confirmed. And this weapon looks an awful lot like Doomsday. While that is one of the biggest reveals, one has to wonder, what else are we going to see in this film?

What we do know is that Dawn of Justice sets up for the Justice League two-parter that is set to hit theaters in 2017 and 2019, and that the Wonder Woman film takes place before the events of this film. And while we’ve heard that Dawn of Justice is being considered as Man of Steel 2, there is speculation that there could be more of an emphasis on Batman than Superman, but we’ll just have to wait and see if that is true or not.

Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice stars Ben Affleck as Batman, Henry Cavill as Superman, Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman, Jesse Eisenberg as Lex Luthor, Amy Adams reprising her role as Lois Lane, as well as Laurence Fishburne reprising his role as Perry White. Newcomers also include Jeremy Irons as Alfred Pennyworth, and Jason Momoa as Aquaman. It is directed by Zack Snyder, and written by Chris Terrio, based on a story by David Goyer. The film opens in theaters on March 26, 2016.

Fearing the actions of a god-like Super Hero left unchecked, Gotham City’s own formidable, forceful vigilante takes on Metropolis’ most revered, modern-day savior, while the world wrestles with what sort of hero it really needs. And with Batman and Superman at war with one another, a new threat quickly arises, putting mankind in greater danger than it’s ever known before.
