As it stands three out of the four of Netflix’s Marvel superhero shows have aired, all of which are huge hits. Speaking of which, Marvel was on hand at New York Comic-Con this weekend to drop a little trailer for their final solo hero series, Iron Fist. Finn Jones (Game Of Thrones) plays the title character aka Danny Rand, who as a young orphan trains with martial artists who then endow him with great mystic powers. Rand would then return to New York seeking justice for his parents, who were killed by an associate of theirs.
Check out the latest trailer here below.
During the NYCC panel, Jones said that he just completed shooting the series hours ago. The fourth and final series of the Netflix and Marvel collaboration culminates when the heroes Daredevil (Charlie Cox), Jessica Jones (Krysten Ritter), and Luke Cage (Mike Coulter) join Iron Fist for the ensemble series The Defenders. The Iron Fist actor is expected to get a short break before heading into shooting The Defenders early next year.
In the new trailer, we hear a voice over, presumably Rand’s teacher, speaking to him about returning to New York City after training with him for so long, warning him of people are not what they appear to be. It being a friend or for. Madame Gao makes a very brief appearance, as she should considering her drugs were marked with an emblem associated with Iron Fist. So it should be interesting to see how she will tie into all of this, even though Rand is on a quest to Harold Meachum (David Wenham) to justice. Meachum is an associate of Rand’s parents, and the most likely suspect in their murder. The trailer also reveals small glimpses of a young Rand’s past, and the words “The Final Defender Arrives” tell us that the moment we’ve all been waiting for will soon be coming.
In addition to Jones and Wenham, Jessica Henwick (Star Wars: The Force Awakens, Game Of Thrones) also stars as Colleen Wing, who will aid Rand throughout the series. Rosario Dawson be reprising her Marvel universe role as return as Claire Temple.
Netflix will release all 13 episodes of Iron Fist on March 17, 2017.
Here’s the official plot synopsis:
