The Bones Of The Earth
A Bound Gods Novel (Book 2)
Paperback | Kindle
By Rachel Dunne
Harper Voyager
Release Date: June 27, 2017 It’s been almost exactly a year since I wrote a review extolling the virtues of Rachel Dunne‘s debut novel In The Shadow Of The Gods. I heaped praise upon it for the beautiful setting and extensive world building that she had created. It is therefore safe to assume that I was not at all hesitant to dive into the sequel so as to write a review prior to the release. Unfortunately, my expectations were set too high it seems. The Bones Of The Earth was not at all what I expected. Read on to find out more.

| New Line Hires Writer For ‘The Conjuring 3’
Now that the franchise as a whole is going by the name The Conjuring Universe, we knew it was only a matter of time before The Conjuring 3 would be on the way. The first two movies making over $638 million worldwide combined probably helps as well. It’s being reported that New Line Cinema has hired The Conjuring 2 writer David Leslie Johnson to work on the script for the trilogy-maker. James Wan, who directed the first two movies and was also a writer and producer on the second installment, is expected to be involved in the project, though the report says he’ll likely produce this time with a new director brought in.

The opening ten minutes of Sunday night’s premiere was just awesome, combining all the elements that Preacher fans have come to expect; quick witted dialogue, hellacious and gory violence, and screwball comedy. Jesse (Dominic Cooper), Tulip (Ruth Negga) and Cassidy (Joseph Gilgun) are on the road searching for God. Meanwhile the Saint of Killers (Graham McTavish) is searching for them, and he’s leaving no stone unturned. The trio ended up in a fleabag motel and in a touching moment, Jesse literally broke down the door for Tulip. But alas, you can’t relax for long when you’re being stalked by a cowboy from Hell. WARNING: Spoilers for Episode 2.2 of Preacher….

| Syfy Orders Pilot For ‘Tremors’ TV Series Starring Kevin Bacon
Syfy has ordered a pilot episode for a potential TV series based on the monster movie franchise Tremors. The series, as we learned when its development was first announced a couple of years back, comes from Universal Cable Productions and Blumhouse Television. The news was confirmed by Kevin Bacon, who’s set to executive produce and star in the series, reprising his role as Valentine McKee. Bacon played the role in the 1990 original movie, but did not return for any of the four sequels that have been produced since then.
