Just to put The Simpsons in perspective; I am 33 years old. The Simpsons began its historic run on FOX in 1989, spun off from the Tracey Ullman Show when I was 7! As in starting second grade! So when my generation speaks of The Simpsons we aren’t just mentioning one of many quality shows on television. We literally grew up with these characters. Homer, Marge, Bart, Lisa, and Maggie aren’t characters; they’re our neighbors, classmates, and friends. “DOH” and “Cowabunga Dude” are parts of American history and culture. Co-creator Matt Groening and friends greeted fans at San Diego Comic-Con with a panel that discussed the future of the series as it enters it 27th (!) season, and the all-things Simpsons FXX universe. Watch the panel videos below.

| SDCC 2015: ‘The Strain’ Panel & Gag Video!
The Strain had their panel on the last day of San Diego Comic-Con, but don’t worry, there were plenty of fans lined up for them. FX had set up a “Survive The Strain” virtual reality experience, along with the AHS Hotel, and a TBX Forest. The panel included creator Guillermo del Toro who showed 2 tiny prologue clips to fans (one apparently involving getting fed worms – gross!), plus a gag video where Thomas Eichorst (Richard Sammel) turns his dungeon into an Air BnB, and ends up trying to put a crib/playpen together. Besides Sammel, some of the other cast members at the panel were Kevin Durand (Vasiliy Fet), Ruta Gedmintas (Dutch Velders), Miguel Gomez (Augustin ‘Gus’ Elizalde), Natalie Brown (Kelly Goodweather), David Bradley (Abraham Setrakian), and Mia Maestro (Nora Martinez). Watch the gag video and the tweet that shows how Guillermo del Toro surprised fans below.

Am I the only one who finds it hard to believe that Family Guy started in 1999 and is about to start it’s 14th (!!!) season? The show about a dysfunctional Rhode Island family, including a sociopathic baby with matricide on his mind, and a borderline alcoholic talking dog, found a committed audience, and gained a huge cult following on FOX. When the show was cancelled, fan demand led to a comeback and with it’s ridiculous brand of sophomoric, immature, and sexually suggestive humor, Family Guy has found its niche in the cultural zeitgeist of Americana. Like many shows on for as long as it’s been, many of the shows quotable lines are part of the lexicon.. What Bart Simpson did in the early 90s for “Cowabunga”, Family Guy has done for “Giggidy” and “IT’S GONNA RAIN!” Show creator and star Seth MacFarlane transitioned to a successful film writer/director (Ted/Ted 2), and even hosted the Academy Awards in 2013. Check out the panel discussion videos and trailer below.
