| ‘Harry Potter’-Themed Butterbeer Ice Cream Sandwiches
August 2 was National Ice Cream Sandwich Day and while I might be a few days late with this one, I thought it was worth a mention, because really, who doesn’t love ice cream sandwiches? Ok, so in honor of this occasion, Food Beast rounded up a photo feature of the cutest little frozen sammies, and they’ve included a listing for Harry Potter-themed Butterbeer Ice Cream Sandwiches (photo here above), created by Jana of Cherry Tea Cakes. Jana came up with the recipe, inspired by the delicious beverage from the Harry Potter universe, back in 2010 in honor of the premiere of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows – Part 1 and made them to taste like butterscotch and short bread cookies, just like Butterbeer.

| Happy Meals For ‘The Exorcist,’ ‘The Shining,’ ‘Godzilla’ & Other Horror Films
Remember that adorable Exorcist Crochet Amigurumi Playset, complete with projectile-vomiting Regan MacNeil? Well, if you dug that, here’s something else along those lines: The Exorcist Happy Meal. Pinterest user Newt Clements mocked up a series of horror-themed Happy Meals – the popular kid’s meal package from McDonald’s fast food eatery. The mock-ups come complete with the expected toy for each property: The Exorcist has the demon-possessed Regan bound to the bed; The Shining has an axe-wielding Jack Torrance; Godzilla has the famed kaiju; and Halloween has the masked killer Michael Myers brandishing his signature knife. Other “Happy Meals” include those for Psycho, Kill Bill, Aliens, Resident Evil, and more (including some non-horror selections).

| Photo: Hogwarts Cake For Awesome Harry Potter-Themed Party
July 31st is the birthday of The Boy Who Lived, Harry Potter! In honor of this occasion today, we thought it would be cool to share some photos of the Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry cake that Darla Wireman over at Bakingdom made a while back for the release of the final film. The Harry Potter-cake represents the four houses of Hogwarts – Gryffindor, Hufflepuff, Ravenclaw, and Slytherin – and Darla wrote that she wanted to create a cake that she thinks would be served in Hogwarts’ Great Hall. And, as Darla pointed out, since nothing is as it seems at Hogwarts, the cake follows that same pattern: it’s white and plain on the outside with just a white banner and the four House flags, but once you cut into it, there’s a colorful checkerboard design inside that represents the colors of the four Houses.

| Make Your Own ‘Star Trek’ Klingon Rokeg Blood Pie
If you ever get a hankering for some Rokeg blood pie, the popular Klingon pastry seen in the Star Trek universe traditionally served on the Day of Honor holiday, the folks over at Food Replicator have figured out how to make one of your own. The recipe is actually made with blood (pig’s blood to be exact), so I won’t be making this or tasting it ever (I’m veg), but I do love the Klingon insignia on top. The photo at top is the “pie” version, but they’ve also made it to look like it does in The Next Generation (in episode “A Matter of Honor”), though both versions have the same filling. If you want to learn a little more about Klingon dining, check out Star Trek: How to Speak Klingon: Essential Phrases for the Intergalactic Traveler, which has a section on what to do when you’re at a restaurant with a Klingon (don’t undertip, that’s for sure!).
