| Chris Farley As Matt Foley 3 Years Before ‘Saturday Night Live’ (Video)
If you were a fan of Saturday Night Live in the ’90s, you are no doubt familiar with Matt Foley, the motivational speaker character played by the late Chris Farley. Considered to be one of the all-time greatest SNL characters/sketches, it made its debut in 1993 and would make many appearances over the years after that. But SNL is not where the character was born. No no, Farley was screaming about living in a van down by the river long before the character was first used on the big stage. Farley used to be a member of Chicago’s Second City sketch/improv comedy group, where he also played Matt Foley. Below you can watch a video of Farley doing the Matt Foley character for Second City in 1990—three years before it was first used on SNL. The sketch is very similar to that first and best known version we saw on SNL, which also featured David Spade and Christina Applegate.

| ‘Doctor Who’ Star Matt Smith In ‘In Bruges’ Deleted Scene (Video)
Martin McDonagh’s In Bruges is one of my all-time favorite movies. It’s dark and twisted and funny and not a movie you can easily forget. Though I love the movie, I’ve never seen any of the special features. And as it turns out, fan favorite Doctor Who star Matt Smith had a role in a flashback as a younger Harry, the role played by Ralph Fiennes, that was ultimately cut from the final film. After watching the scene you can see why it was cut, but it’s still cool to see. You can check out Matt Smith’s deleted In Bruges scene below, but be warned: it does contain some violent content and should be considered NSFW.

| ‘The Wolf Of Wall Street’ Mashed With Pixar’s ‘The Incredibles,’ Disney’s ‘Blank Check’ (Videos)
Everyone enjoys a good mashup, and today brings a pair of very interesting ones for you to take a peek at while news is slow. Both of the mashups involve the trailer for the latest Martin Scorsese and Leonardo DiCaprio film, The Wolf of Wall Street. The first mashes the audio and music of the Wolf trailer with clips from Pixar’s The Incredibles. The second uses audio from the Disney not-so-classic 1994 flick Blank Check, and mashes it with the music and style of the Wolf trailer. You can check out both videos below.

| Most Epic Canned Beans Commercial Ever Involves Space, An Alien, Silliness (Video)
As the week comes to a close and we prepare for the chaos of Christmas week, it felt like a good time for a little something silly. A video has been making its way around the ‘net for the past week or so, and if you haven’t seen it yet, you’re in for a treat. It’s a most epic fake commercial for canned beans that’s set in space. It involves astronauts on the moon, an unexpected guest, and a (possibly) unexpected ending. But the video wasn’t just made for fun, it’s actually a demo by a company called Cinesite to show off their creature animation skills. This isn’t a company trying to get in the game though; they’ve already done work on numerous blockbuster projects including Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides, John Carter, Skyfall, Iron Man 3, and World War Z. You can see their faux beans commercial below.

| ‘Firefly’ Ship Serenity Makes Sneaky Cameo On Another Fox Show |
This comes from back in April, so many of you may have already seen or heard about it. But for those who hadn’t heard of it or missed it such as myself, it’s a pretty cool little tip of the hat to Joss Whedon‘s prematurely canceled Firefly, which was ended by Fox eleven years ago now. (*sniff*) I’m getting a bit verklempt. Anyway! As a master of the procrastinative arts, the TV shows on my DVR collect and build up faster than the genetically engineered offspring of Sonic the Hedgehog and The Flash goes potty. Adorable thing, really. And even poops little golden rings for some odd reason, so yeah…I suppose everyone is a winner. One of the shows I attempted to catch up on a bit recently was Seth MacFarlane‘s very own Fox animated comedy American Dad! And in watching a late April episode titled “The Full Cognitive Redaction of Avery Bullock by the Coward Stan Smith” I noticed something that warmed my geek heart. A little model of the crew’s ship in Firefly, named Serenity, floating behind Roger the alien’s head. You can check out the Easter Egg below.
