John Woo’s 1997 hit Face/Off was a stylized action blockbuster with an absurd premise that was perfectly paired with performances from John Travolta and Nicolas Cage. An FBI agent (Travolta) surgically traded faces with a psychotic killer (Cage) so that he could discover the location of a bomb that could cause massive devastation. The film was a commercial success, and since studios are high on getting remakes and reboots into theaters, it should come as no surprise that there are reports that Paramount is now developing a remake. The new film adaptation of the popular fighting game series Mortal Kombat will be adding even more characters to its roster. Following the castings of Joe Taslim (The Raid) as cryomancer ninja Sub-Zero, Ludi Lin (Black Mirror) as the Shaolin warrior Liu Kang, Mehcad Brooks (Supergirl) as the steel-armed Jax, Tadanobu Asano (Thor: Ragnarok) as the thunder god Raiden, and Sisi Stringer as the deadly Mileena, comes some new players. According to new reports, Chin Han (The Dark Knight), Hiroyuki Sanada (The Wolverine, Avengers: Endgame), Jessica McNamee (The Meg), Josh Lawson (Superstore), and Lewis Tan (Deadpool 2) will all be playing fighters who join the deadly tournament. | Kevin Smith Shares Story Of How He Reunited With Ben Affleck For ‘Jay and Silent Bob Reboot’ After Not Speaking For Years
There are a bunch of actors who have made multiple appearances in Kevin Smith‘s View Askewniverse over the past 25 years. Ben Affleck is one such actor, first appearing in Mallrats in 1995—one of his earlier film roles. He quickly re-teamed with Smith two years later for Chasing Amy, and has since appeared in four more Smith titles including Dogma and Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back. What fans might not know is that Smith and Affleck had a falling out a while ago, sometime after Affleck’s appearance in Clerks II back in 2006, and the two hadn’t spoken in years. But with Jay and Silent Bob Reboot now on the way, Smith was thankfully able to reunite with Affleck for the project. | ‘The Lion King’ Cast Share Their Experiences Making The Photorealistic Reimagining |

Disney’s The Lion King (2019) may be a near reflection of the animated original, but director Jon Favreau’s use of groundbreaking and innovative Photo Real technology allows audiences to experience a familiar story in a whole new way. But not only did Favreau use these sets of tools for the reimagining, but he also brought in a cast that would help carry the film. Comprised of mostly black actors, this new take on The Lion King is a celebration of African culture and an opportunity for young black children to feel that they matter. Geeks Of Doom joined their fellow journalists at the global press conference of The Lion King where Donald Glover, Seth Rogen, Billy Eichner, Chiwetel Ejiofor, Alfre Woodard, Keegan-Michael Key, Florence Kasumba, Eric Andre, John Kani, JD McCrary, and Shahadi Wright Joseph shared their own experience making the film, being able to improv and riff, the legacy of the animated original, identity, and so much more.
