The God of Thunder doesn’t look too happy. Well ever since Thor director Kenneth Branagh decided against taking the helm of a sequel to the Mighty Marvel movie hit that has rang up worldwide ticket sales of $449 million, Marvel Studios has been searching for a new director to guide Thor and his awesome hammer Mjolnir through another dazzling cinematic adventure destined to be post-converted to 3D. Although directors such as James McTeigue (V for Vendetta), Breck Eisner (The Crazies), Brian Kirk (Game of Thrones), and Drew Goddard (Cloverfield) have been mentioned in connection with the assignment, the latest word has Patty Jenkins, who directed Charlize Theron to a Best Actress Oscar in the 2003 drama Monster, possibly wielding the mighty megaphone and getting a snazzy parking spot at Disney Studios as the new director of Thor 2.

| Nooooo!!! Did George Lucas Make Darth Vader Even Wimpier In The ‘Star Wars’ Blu-ray Edition? |

[UPDATE: The Darth Vader portion has been confirmed.] It’s a known fact – George Lucas cannot leave well enough alone. When it comes to his Star Wars saga, the man just can’t help but go back in and fix what’s not broken, over and over and over again. We’ve had to endure all sorts of indignities, like “Jedi Rocks,” Han not shooting first, and, well, the list goes on and on, I could be here writing all day. By now, you must all know about the long-awaited Star Wars Blu-ray Editions coming out in September. Oh the excitement to finally see the saga in hi-def. As we learned last week, Lucas did dip back into the pool to do some tweaks, like the one to the Yoda Puppet in Episode I. Ok, fine, fine, I can overlook that. Now, rumor has it that another change is being made that there’s no way in hell any Star Wars fan is gonna be OK with. Star Wars fan sites and forums are posting that in Return Of The Jedi in the scene where The Emperor is killing Luke with Force lightning as Darth Vader watches on, that Vader now yells, “Nooooo!!!!!!” as he lifts up the Emperor. Sound familiar? Yeah, sounds like that much-ridiculed ending of Episode III. Check out the video below of the scene, which syncs up the new audio with the existing video.

| Rumor Alert: Superman/Batman Movie On The Way?
Apparently, there is a real chance of Warner Bros. considering a future movie team-up of the characters of Superman and Batman after 2013’s release of Zack Snyder’s Man of Steel. Rumor has it that this possible upcoming Superman/Batman movie could go one of two ways. The first being that, if Christian Bale is willing to reprise his role, Batman would be mentoring a young Superman in fighting super crime that threatens the world. And if Bale isn’t willing, the other idea is too throw out the Chris Nolan continuity, and have Henry Cavill‘s Superman mentoring a young Bruce Wayne. This is a terrible idea.

Additionally, Steven Moffat and the BBC have also confirmed that Matt Smith will be continuing his role as the Doctor in Series 7 during 2012, following some silly rumors online that he was stepping down. With the official confirmation from the BBC, the rumors were put to rest… but that didn’t stop Moffat and others lay out some clues as to what else we might be seeing in Series 7. Following the official announcements from the BBC, John Barrowman (aka Captain Jack Harkness from Torchwood) revealed in an interview with Zap2It that the return of Captain Jack to Doctor Who has been discussed between Russell T Davies and Steven Moffat. “I’ve always said that if I’m asked to go back to Doctor Who, I’ll go at the drop of a hat,” Barrowman says. “That’s where Captain Jack got his beginnings. And it’s already been discussed.”
