| David Yates To Direct ‘The Hobbit’? Robert Rodriguez To Direct ‘Deadpool’? Sam Raimi To Direct ‘Wizard Of Oz’ Reboot? Maybe…
Search the internet for news regarding movies and you’ll likely find more news about directors and actors being offered jobs or being in various stages of the negotiation process instead of the real news of them being officially signed on to a shiny new film project. Most of these filler stories aren’t worth a second thought, but as we’ve said before, sometimes one comes along that’s just too good to pass up. Today, we have three of these! First up is news that David Yates has possibly been offered the chance to step in and replace the dearly departed Guillermo del Toro on The Hobbit. Yates came on to the Harry Potter franchise with 2007’s Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix and stayed for Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince and both parts of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows.

| Rumor For Your Thoughts: ‘Batman 3’ To Grab Joseph Gordon-Levitt For The Riddler?
Summer time can typically be responsible for one big flaw in movie news: the heat makes people rumor-happy-wacky-insane. Some of them may end up holding some truth; most of them — like the recent reports of what we could expect from Indiana Jones 5 — will end up being denied to the end as completely false. These rumors are usually an aggravation to all, but when one has any kind of reasonable source or backing to it, it has the ability to catch some eyes. If you haven’t come to terms with the fact that sequels and remakes are just a normal, everyday part of the Hollywood machine, then you better get used to it quickly. The sooner you do, the sooner you can enjoy the prospect of a movie like Beetlejuice II happening, instead of immediately scorning the very thought. Before you starting heating up with rage, no, no there’s not a sequel to Tim Burton‘s fantastic 1988 horror-comedy on the way…yet. This is simply a hypothetical question ignited by some interesting quotes excavated by Moviehole over the past couple months.

| UPDATED! Is There A ‘Cloverfield 2’ Teaser Trailer Attached To ‘Iron Man 2’? |

UPDATE: According to our own exclusive spy report earlier today, it looks like this is indeed the Abrams/Spielberg collaboration touched on at the bottom of this post. Cloverfield 2 shall have to wait. Remember how much crazy viral attention was brought in as J.J. Abrams and company masterfully lured us along with his “dollar bill attached to a string” teases of 2008’s Cloverfield? Whether you love that movie or not, there is absolutely no denying how much fun it was to take each piece of mysterious video, images, or websites and try to figure out just what was going on as we paused and squinted a thousand times. At one point, people even thought it was going to be a Voltron movie! C’mon now, that’s brilliantly deceptive marketing and EVERYONE wanted to see what all the hype was about when the time came. Now, rumors are flooding out that a teaser trailer for Cloverfield 2 might just be revealed to you when you go and see Iron Man 2 this weekend. And if this is so, let the viral anarchy begin!
