| Rumor For Your Thoughts: Will Smith To Return For Two-Part ‘Independence Day 2’?
News that Will Smith was choosing between a family flick no one knows much about and returning for Men in Black III is still warm, but some pretty large-scale rumors are already materializing for the actor’s future. It’s beginning to look more and more likely that not one, but possibly two sequels to Smith’s alien apocalypse movie Independence Day could be well on the way. This isn’t the first time rumors of these sequels have been heard, but the big elephant in the room was in fact paying the pile of money required to lure Smith back….something Fox was not willing (or perhaps able) to do. Now comes word via IESB, who has a major scoop from a trusted source, that Mr. Will Smith is now actually locked in for both of these sequels. The news hasn’t been officially confirmed yet, but everything seems to make enough sense for this to be happening now.

| Want To Know Who’s In The Running To Become Captain America?
A list of names has been revealed to the masses today, and this list of names just so happens to be the gentlemen who are currently in the running for the highly-coveted role of Captain America in The First Avenger: Captain America. Usually we would just ignore stuff like this because c’mon now, this is a bunch of people who are being considered for one single role, which means all but one of them will not have anything to do with the project in the end. None-the-less, this is a gigantic film, and the last before the unheard of merging of multiple juggernaut Marvel Studios franchises in The Avengers, so we figured you might be interested in knowing just who might become your new Captain. The names included are certainly very interesting and they vary from those you might expect to a couple you might not so much expect. Continue reading to find out who’s in the hunt!

| UPDATED! ‘Antichrist’ Director Lars Von Trier To Challenge Martin Scorsese & Robert De Niro To Remake ‘Taxi Driver’
UPDATE: This is why I loathe rumors. Lars von Trier’s business partner Peter Aalbaek Jensen tells ScreenDaily “I have seen it [the story] in the Danish film magazine and what is written there is not true,” and that it’s all “rubbish.” Lesson learned. If the Danish say something, don’t listen to it. Apparently Lars von Trier, director of the recent controversial film, Antichrist, is now the Jigsaw Killer of all film makers, setting challenges at the feet of his peers. Many reports out of the Berlin Film Festival state that von Trier is challenging none other than Martin Scorsese and Robert De Niro to remake their 1976 classic, Taxi Driver. The news is so insanely preposterous that it wasn’t even worth a glance at first; but with more and more reports indicating that an announcement will come soon, we all can’t help but wonder: is this really true?

| Rumors For Your Thought: Will We See The Riddler & Arkham Asylum In ‘The Dark Knight’ Sequel? |

Yes, ladies and gentlemen, now that it has been confirmed that The Dark Knight scribes Jonathan Nolan and David Goyer are working on a script that will eventually turn into Batman 3, the rumors will begin flowing like the booze of a father mercilessly dragged to a Jonas Brothers concert by his daughters. While rumors are usually B.S. created simply in hopes of stealing attention and hits to ones website location, sometime they come from an actual source, and these are the rumors that come with just a little chance of actually being true as night time blackness. In the case of this particular rumor, everything sounds like it would make sense and nothing is absurd and over-the-top. This information is actually a couple of weeks old, as well, but since its first running, some positive updates have come around and supported the claims, leading myself to think there could actually be some truth going on here. Click on over to find out what might be going on when Batman 3 reaches our eyes.

| Words That Will Infuriate You: ‘Jaws’ To Be Remade In 3D? |

We say it often here, and we’ll say it again: most rumors aren’t worth even reading, let alone covering. But when a rumor has any kind of a backing or a solid inside source, and when it involves something one simply can’t ignore, then we shall bring it to your eyes. Cinema Blend has word from a source that they have at Universal Pictures that the studio is “strongly” considering the possibility of remaking Steven Spielberg‘s classic 1975 Great White shark movie, Jaws, and bathing it in 3D for today’s audiences. The logic here is that everything is in 3D these days, and everything is being remade, so the smartest way for them to make a ton of money is to remake their classics with modern technologies. The same source even said that Universal was looking at actors like Tracy Morgan for the role of Hooper, once played by Richard Dreyfus. If the very whisper of that paragraph doesn’t lead you break at least one thing in your general vicinity, than I would question your mental status as a movie fan.
