Matt Damon Says ‘Bourne’ Sequel Still Five Years Away; Prequel With New Director & Star Possible

Jason Bourne

It seems like the moment that it was announced that a fourth Jason Bourne movie would be made to follow The Bourne Identity, The Bourne Supremacy, and The Bourne Ultimatum that was not based on a Robert Ludlum novel, everything started going wrong and falling out of place.

Through the many problems, the biggest was of course when director Paul Greengrass decided to leave the movie and move on to other things (Read: “˜Bourne’ Trilogy Director Paul Greengrass Walks Away From “˜Bourne 4″²). Since Greengrass did not direct all three of the previous films, so long as the studio kept their hands on star Matt Damon, all could still be sunshine and rainbows, right?

‘Ghostbusters 3’ To Use 3D; ‘Gremlins 3’ To Follow Suit?

Gremlins

The folks over at MarketSaw have been quite busy as of late. Not one but two of their tippy-top inside sources have chirped some information about Ghostbusters 3 and Gremlins 3 both wanting to join the “cool kids” of this 3D epidemic.

When it comes to Ghostbuster 3, we’ve heard over and over that it was indeed being made and that the whole cast would be returning. We still have zero solid proof of any of this, but because we’ve heard it so often, it has evolved to semi-fact. A source from none other than George Lucas‘s Industrial Light & Magic has apparently whispered that the project is still moving full-steam ahead and that they’re also looking to shoot it in 3D. This is of course no shocking revelation; almost all movies these days are either developed around the technology or given the multi-dimensional makeover after-the-fact. If they are going to make another Ghostbusters, they might as well use this popular format to ensure a nice box office run.

Rumor For Your Thoughts: Tim Burton To Take On ‘Sleeping Beauty’ Villain Maleficent?

Maleficent

Let me just preface this by saying that I’m not a fan of rumors. In fact, I’m not a big fan of anything that’s not officially confirmed, even if it’s a legit possibility. As I’ve said before, there’s so many rumors and maybes that come around, that it’s tough to ever tell what to believe and what will end up being false when it comes to future movies.

Now, even with as much as I hate rumors, let us just forget all of that for the moment. You see, sometimes there’s these rumors that are just too cool to ignore, even if they end up never happening; the rumors that get your mind’s eye running hard, imagining what something might look like if it were ever made. Today holds a rumor like this, and it involves the one and only Tim Burton, and a little Walt Disney classic called Sleeping Beauty.

Daniel Craig In Negotiations To Replace Robert Downey Jr. In ‘Cowboys & Aliens’

Cowboys & Aliens

Back in September we discovered that Jon Favreau may be working with his Iron Man star Robert Downey Jr. again soon when he became a candidate to direct a movie based on the Scott Mitchell Rosenberg graphic novel, Cowboys & Aliens. Since then, Favreau has officially become the director, but unfortunately, Downey Jr. actually had to drop out of the project this past Monday.

Now comes word via a scoop by Collider that Casino Royale and Quantum of Solace‘s James Bond, Daniel Craig, is now in negotiations to take on the role of Zeke Jackson that Downey Jr. vacated.

Cowboys & Aliens isn’t the most recognizable title in the world of graphic novels, but its premise sounds to be highly entertaining. It takes place in Silver City, Arizona sometime in the 1800s where the Cowboys and Indians are fighting it out as we all know they did, but this particular location is about to have a bit of a twist.

Bill Paxton Wants To See ‘Twister 2’ In 3D, But Do You?

Twister

Bill Paxton has done a lot of work with James Cameron (The Terminator, Aliens, True Lies, Titanic), and because of this past, he’s very happy to see Cameron’s Avatar doing so well at the box office. The movie that had people nervous with its rumored record-breaking budget has made $380 million domestically and $757 million overseas, and was custom built for the new 3D technology that has swarmed theaters as of late. This three-dimensional revolution has caught the eye of Paxton, and it has his brain churning about the prospect of actually doing a sequel to his hit 1996 disaster film Twister using the format.

While doing an interview for his HBO show Big Love, Paxton was asked about his upcoming projects. Paxton went on to reveal his new found desire to revisit the world of storm chasing, and that he had already met with mega producer Kathleen Kennedy about the idea. He explained that he had recently gone on a trip to the Ozarks with friend and Twister colleague Scott Thomson, and that they followed the trail of one of the biggest tornadoes ever to touch down. The 1925 beast was estimated to measure one mile in width, and it traveled 219 miles while taking the lives of 700 people with it. It was in this historically devastating storm that Paxton found himself pondering the thought of a sequel and using the technology that is doing so well in Avatar.
