The Possible Sad, Sudden Death Of ‘The Green Hornet’

The Movie God   |  @   |

Hornet

Over the years, many news pieces have been produced in regard to The Green Hornet and it’s potential new movie specimen. Among these pieces were news of Kevin Smith making the movie, Kevin Smith not making the movie, Seth Rogen making the movie, and Seth Rogen getting Stephen Chow to star as Kato and direct the movie.

Since it was announced that Rogen was doing it with writer/friend Evan Goldberg, the project moved along smoothly and it really looked like something that was going to get done this time around.

Then came word that Stephen Chow was probably still going to play Kato, but no longer going to direct… or was it the other way around? No one really seemed sure what was going on, and with this, those big, dark clouds began to move in slowly.

Now comes word that as feared, The Green Hornet appears to be clinging to the weakest possible tuft of grass on top of the steepest of steep hills.

Spider-Man

Actor J.K. Simmons spoke to MTV at Sundance about where Spider-Man 4 currently stands and whether we’d see J. Jonah Jameson involved in the story again.

The actor confirmed that he had spoken to director Sam Raimi at a Christmas party and that they were going to begin filming the movie in 2010 sometime. While this sounds fantastic, Sam Raimi — as well as Tobey Mcguire and Kirsten Dunst — have yet to officially sign on to the project; though all are expected to be up for a return now that a decent enough amount of time has passed by.

When asked about the character J. Jonah Jameson and if he would like to see more of him the next movie, J.K. Simmons responded:

The Movie God   |  @   |

CameronIESB has gotten word from an inside source that James Cameron has a lot of interest in directing the remake of Forbidden Planet that’s in the works at Warner Brothers.

Apparently Cameron has had a lot of interest over the years, starting after he did Titanic. That never worked out and he hasn’t really done much else until now, working on his super-mega-epic sci-fi movie, Avatar.

Forbidden Planet has been in the news a bit recently due to Babylon 5 creator J. Michael Straczynski writing the script.

Tim Robbins

Our pals over at Latino Review were able to get a delicious looking scoop for the big time sequel Iron Man 2. The rumor reads a little something like this: Tim Robbins to play Howard Stark.

The rumor has Robbins replacing Gerard Sanders, the actor who played the minor role of Howard Stark in Iron Man for an important flashback scene that would set the tables for both Captain America AND The Avengers.

Apparently (if this does check out) Jon Favreau wasn’t confident enough in the original actor to pull off such an important scene, setting in motion the replacement.

The Movie God   |  @   |

Sin City 2Frank Miller spoke to IGN and the slightly popular topic of Sin City 2 came up somewhere along the line. On most occasions this wouldn’t be something that bared much fruit, but in this particular case, Miller offered up some hope for the masses that the movie was indeed taking steps and could be on the way! The hopeful sequel is supposed to based upon the A Dame To Kill For storyline from the graphic novel.

Miller was in the U.K. doing a junket for his upcoming movie The Spirit when IGN popped the question and received this answer:

Sin City 2 is written. It’s mainly a matter of working out the details of the production. I’m hoping to do it with Robert Rodriguez again in the same circumstances that we did the first one, and we could be shooting as soon as April.
