Shudder
Air date: October 24, 2019 Shudder’s reimagining of George A. Romero’s and Stephen King’s Creepshow has been a monster hit, breaking streaming records for AMC’s genre service since its premiere in late September. Last week’s Creepshow episode was my favorite of the season thus far and this week we get the penultimate episode of the debut season with a “The Night of the Paw” and “Times is Tough in Musky Holler.” Created by Greg Nicotero of The Walking Dead, Creepshow features phenomenal practical effects, an assortment of genre legends sprinkled throughout the cast, and the darkly comedic fable-like storytelling that Creepshow made popular in the original 1982 film.

Friday night on AMC’s horror streaming service Shudder, Joe Bob Briggs returned with another The Last Drive-In special, the Halloween Hootenanny, featuring a triple threat of Michael Myers movies and Darcy the Mailgirl doing Tom Atkins cosplay. The original 1978 Carpenter classic was followed by 1988’s Halloween 4: The Return of Michael Myers and 1989’s Halloween 5: The Revenge of Michael Myers. The latter of which, Joe Bob called a torture device. You won’t have to wait too long to get your fill of Joe Bob’s wisecracking commentary, film history tidbits, and drive-in totals as he’ll be ushering in the holiday season with Joe Bob’s Red Christmas, a holiday-themed triple threat of horror going live on Shudder on Friday, December 13, 2019.

Disney+ will be home to over 6,000 hours worth of content, both original titles like The Mandalorian, Lady and the Tramp, and The World According to Jeff Goldblum, and existing titles like Avengers: Age of Ultron, Ant-Man, Captain Marvel, and Guardians of the Galaxy. That’s a lot of stuff to watch, and the best part of it is, you can bring it along with you when you download it. And while most of that downloaded content leaves other streaming services, that will not be the case for Disney+, which will let you keep the downloads even when the content itself leaves the streaming service.
