Mission: Impossible Ghost: Protocol was a somewhat of a reboot for the film franchise. At first it was once thought that the film would see Tom Cruise pass the torch to his fellow co-star Jeremy Renner, who would launch a new Mission: Impossible franchise. But since the film proved that Cruise is still a viable star, he is signed on to star in Mission: Impossible 5 after all. With him, Renner, and Simon Pegg all set to reprise their respective roles in the Christopher McQuarrie-directed sequel, we can expect to see some fresh faces to star in some new and possibly villainous roles.

Of those faces, Alex Baldwin and Rebecca Ferguson are reportedly in talks to appear in the film. Hit the jump to see who they will play.

Alec Baldwin made an appearance this week on Late Night With Jimmy Fallon to promote his latest project, the documentary Seduced and Abandoned. While on the program, host Jimmy Fallon reminisced with Baldwin about their supposed days starring in an 80’s cop show called Point Pleasant Police Department where the duo played a pair of New Jersey cops. Fallon then goes on to “roll clips” from the show, which turns out to be messy and hilarious.

If you remember Fallon from his days on Saturday Night Live, then you know that some of his funniest stuff was when he had trouble keeping in character. With the way the “Point Pleasant Police Department” sketches were set up, there was no way Fallon was going to make it through it all without laughing. Kudos to Baldwin, who somehow managed to keep it together through this the silliness.

In DreamWorks Animation’s latest film, Rise of the Guardians, Jack Frost (Chris Pine) is a teenage rebel who has no interest in being bound by responsibility and just wants to use his magic staff to spread winter and cold for the sake of snowball fights and school closings.

But everything changes when Pitch Black (Jude Law), the Boogeyman, plans to engulf the world in fear and darkness.

The Guardians – Santa Claus (Alec Baldwin), the Tooth Fairy (Isla Fisher), the Easter Bunny (Hugh Jackman), and the Sandman – enlist Jack to join their team to stop Pitch and protect the children of the world.

Based on William Joyce‘s The Guardians of Childhood book series and The Man in the Moon short film by Joyce and Reel FX, Rise of the Guardians is directed by Peter Ramsey and executive-produced by Guillermo del Toro and Joyce.

Guillermo del Toro helped shape the film adaptation by working on story structure, themes, and character design. Under his divine influence, Rise of the Guardians sets a different tone for family movies – by injecting dark, moody, and often poetic imagery into an otherwise standard holiday kiddie flick.

Disclaimer: I am a 27-year-old man with an affinity for musical theatre and ’80s glam rock. I am not ashamed to admit I have shed a tear or two during Glee or the occasional off-Broadway production of Rent. Musicals aren’t for everyone, but for all the Drama Nerds, Band Geeks, and Glee Kids out there, this one’s for you.

From director Adam Shankman (Hairspray) comes Warner Bros. Pictures’ big screen adaptation of the Broadway musical Rock of Ages. The year is 1987. Movies like Fatal Attraction, Moonstruck, and Beverly Hills Cop II blow up the box office while Mötley Crüe, Def Leppard, and Bon Jovi play to sold-out stadiums across the country. In this alternate reality of 1987, however, rock god Stacee Jaxx (Tom Cruise) is responsible for every ’80’s anthem and power ballad – an amalgam of every legendary front man in rock’n’roll history.

Rock of Ages features Julianne Hough (Footloose, Burlesque) as Sherrie Christian, a small-town girl who leaves Tulsa, Oklahoma to follow her Hollywood dreams. There she meets rock’n’roller Drew Boley (Diego Boneta), a bartender at The Bourbon Room, one of Sunset Strip’s hottest concert venues.

Warner Bros. has released a second full-length trailer for their upcoming musical film, Rock Of Ages, based on the Broadway show.

In Rock Of Ages, a “small town girl” named Sherrie (Julianne Hough) meets a city boy named Drew (Diego Boneta) on the Sunset Strip where both of them are pursuing their Hollywood dreams. Sherri works as a waitress at the The Bourbon Room, while Drew work there as a busboy, though both are hoping for their “big break.” Alec Baldwin stars as Dennis Dupree, the owner of The Bourbon Room, with Russell Brand as the manager of the Hollywood club (he also narrates the story). Catherine Zeta-Jones plays the mayor’s wife, who wants to shut down the club because it promotes a sex, drugs, and rock n roll lifestyle. Tom Cruise is a hair metal rock star named Stacee Jaxx and in the trailer we get a glimpse of his onstage persona taking on Bon Jovi’s “Wanted Dead or Alive.”
