Each and every week, I, “Weather Wizard!” Henchman 21 and “Captain Cold!” Empress Eve read a lot of comics. Seriously you guys, a lot of comics. Maybe too many comics. I mean, it is possible”¦ theoretically. Naturally, we look forward to some more than others. I mean, who doesn’t? So, let’s take a look into the depths of our pull lists, grab some comics, and we’ll let YOU know what the top books to look forward to are for the week of October 8, 2014. Single issues and trades, they’re all here. It’s another busy week this time, but I’m going to find a way to restrain myself, mostly because I’m saving all of my excitement for the start of hockey season, the premier of The Flash, and the return of Arrow. Yes, I like a lot of different stuff, and that’s just who I am. Plus, The Empress is gearing up for New York Comic-Con, which begins this week. So, let’s go on another ride on the zamboni, because it’s time to face off against The GoD List!

| ‘Black Widow’ Solo Movie Development Confirmed By Marvel Studios
Black Widow has been making appearances in the Marvel Cinematic Universe since Iron Man 2 where Scarlett Johansson first took on the role, followed by The Avengers and now the upcoming Captain America: The Winter Soldier, where she’ll play an important part in the spy thriller heavy plot. Black Widow will further make a big contribution to the highly anticipated 2015 release of The Avengers: Age of Ultron and now word is officially out that Marvel plans to further invest in the badass Agent of S.H.I.E.L.D. with a solo Black Widow movie!

| ‘Avengers: Age Of Ultron’ Adds Thomas Kretschmann As Baron Wolfgang von Strucker
A few months back we reported on a rumor that Baron Wolfgang von Strucker would appear as the second villain in Avengers: Age Of Ultron. With Ultron being the titular villain, Strucker’s role would most likely be a secondary or supporting role. Now that role has been confirmed, as The Wrap is reporting that Thomas Kretschmann NBC’s Dracula has been cast as the the villain and new head of HYDRA. | NYCC 2013: ‘Avengers World’ Spins Off Of Marvel’s Infinity In January 2014
As we get towards the end of Marvel’s Infinity event, we’re starting to get the shape of what the universe will be like once the cosmic storyline comes to an end. One of the books that will spin out of Infinity was announced at New York Comic-Con this weekend with Avengers World set to release in January 2014. Avengers World teams up writer Nick Spencer (Secret Avengers, Superior Foes of Spider-Man) with co-writer Jonathan Hickman (Avengers, Infinity) and artist Stefano Caselli (Avengers) and focuses on “the new heroes recently added to the team’s roster.”
