| SDCC 2010: Summit Entertainment’s ‘Red’ Panel
Being familiar with the Warren Ellis original property, I was curious going into the panel for Summit Entertainment’s Red to see how far the tone of the film was going to change from the dark, violent graphic novel to the lighter blackly comic adaptation.
Moderator Eric Mora, Editor in chief of IGN Movies, introduced original Red comic creator Warren Ellis, artist Cully Hammer, producer Lorenzo Di Bonaventura, and actors Karl Urban, Mary-Louise Parker, Helen Mirren, and Bruce Willis to the panel. Bruce Willis praised the work of his co-stars, Mirren noted that with her and Morgan Freeman that they had both “the Queen and God” in the film, as she sported a Harvey Pekar memorial sweater. Warren Ellis noted that his motivation for allowing his property to be adapted was “lots of money… I could buy most of you now.” He wanted the producers to roll with the film in whatever direction they wanted.

| Don’t See Bruce Willis & Jamie Foxx In This New ‘Kane & Lynch’ Teaser Poster
Nu Image and Millennium Films have released the first teaser poster for their upcoming video game adaptation, Kane & Lynch. The movie stars Bruce Willis as Kane and Jamie Foxx as Lynch; and though they’re on the poster, they’re not really on the poster, so don’t expect to see just how the superstars will look in the movie just yet. Fans of the title are itchy-curious to see just how the two will look in comparison to the video game characters…especially when it comes to Foxx’s Lynch. Head on over to the other side to see the first teaser poster from Kane & Lynch. Don’t forget your guns.

| Has Jamie Foxx Joined Bruce Willis For ‘Kane & Lynch’ Movie?
As a video game, Kane & Lynch: Dead Men wasn’t the most popular ever to be developed. It also didn’t help at all that the team that made it is the same team responsible for the eternally popular Hitman game series, which hasn’t offered us a new installment in far too long, much to the dismay of its many fans. Even in the mediocre showing of Kane & Lynch, a movie based on the game has always been in the works, with superstar Bruce Willis attached to star as Kane for just as long. Willis’s involvement went from expected to confirmed back in October, but we’ve wondering since then who would be playing the role of Lynch. According to screenwriter Kyle Ward, we now have an answer to that question, and that role will be filled by Jamie Foxx.

| Spoiler Talk: Cop Out |
By The Rub

I was excited at the prospect of Kevin Smith directing a buddy cop movie. The original title, A Couple of Dicks, hinted at some of the irreverence that made Smith famous. Warner Bros. changed the title to Cop Out for marketing purposes then proceeded to market it to death, oddly leaving mention of Smith out of the campaign. Even though he didn’t write it, I had hopes that Smith’s presence would have at least helped fill in the cracks or stretch the funny if needed.
Well it was sorely needed and sadly, it didn’t work. It was almost like Kevin Smith directing a movie written by someone not as talented trying to write a Kevin Smith movie. Wait, that’s actually exactly what it was. It was supposed to pay homage to this type of movie but it was just a lazy, uninspired copy. Of a copy. For what it’s worth, everyone else in the theatre where I saw it was at least 20 years older than me and they couldn’t stop laughing. I guess that’s something. Time for a little SPOILER TALK. Below are some of my random, non-sequential spoiler-filled thoughts and rants about the movie. Leave your comments about the movie below.
