| ‘Tolkien’: New Trailer For Movie About ‘The Hobbit’ and ‘Lord Of The Rings’ Author J.R.R. Tolkien Released
Last month we saw an “official trailer” for Tolkien, a J.R.R. Tolkien biopic. But that trailer was much more of a teaser at less than a minute long. Now Fox Searchlight has released a proper official trailer, which runs over two minutes long. The movie stars Nicholas Hoult as the The Hobbit and The Lord of the Rings author, and he’s joined on the cast by Lily Collins, Colm Meaney, Anthony Boyle, Patrick Gibson, Tom Glynn-Carney, Craig Roberts, Laura Donnelly, Genevieve O’Reilly, Pam Ferris, and Derek Jacobi. Continue below for a synopsis for Tolkien, and to check out the new trailer for the movie.

| Trailer For ‘Tolkien’ Starring Nicholas Hoult As ‘Lord Of The Rings’ Author J.R.R. Tolkien Released
Fox Searchlight has released an official trailer for Tolkien, a movie about The Hobbit and The Lord of the Rings author J.R.R. Tolkien and some of the events in his life which helped inspire his works. While dubbed an “official trailer,” this one is definitely closer to a teaser trailer or even a TV spot at well under a minute in length. But with Shazam! releasing a teaser trailer that was almost three minutes long, I honestly have no idea what the hell is going on anymore and I just try to enjoy whatever is shared with us. You can find more on Tolkien including a brief synopsis, and check out the trailer below.

Star Trek: The Next Generation
Season 3 – Blu-ray
Starring Patrick Stewart, Brent Spiner, Jonathan Frakes, Marina Sirtis, Michael Dorn, LeVar Burton, Gates McFadden, Wil Wheaton, Colm Meaney, Whoopi Goldberg
Paramount Home Entertainment
Release Date: April 30, 2013 Paramount is slowly but surely remastering and enhancing each season of Star Trek: The Next Generation, and now sees the release of the Blu-ray for Season 3, which was the season when the series really took off. When TNG started coming out on DVD, Season 3 was the first box set I purchased, because while I’m a great fan of TNG, I’ve had difficulty sitting through some of those early episodes where the show was still finding its footing in the late 1980s (although, the pilot was awesome). Back in those days, people were used to one Star Trek and one Star Trek only. Kirk, Spock, Scotty, Sulu, Uhura, Chekov – those were the characters who entered people’s living rooms each week and these are who viewers wanted to see. TNG was initially met with resistance, especially since it had a new Captain commanding a new Enterprise in the future.

Originally Broadcast: January 03, 1993 As a few of our regular readers have probably figured out by now, I have been going through a bit of a Star Trek kick as of late; and with all incarnations of the television shows available for instant streaming on Netflix, it’s a prime opportunity to become reacquainted with the final frontier. And so for this week’s review, I decided to dive into Star Trek: Deep Space Nine. And yet, there are many fans who seem to consider DS9 to be the ginger stepchild left under the stairs. I prefer to consider it SPECIAL. …as in EXTRA SPECIAL COOL, yo. Conceivably one of the most divisive series among fans, Deep Space Nine has been considered to be the best of the Star Treks by many fans, and yet the worse by many others. This is because DS9 takes a completely different perspective, perhaps even a bold one, by Star Trek standards: it stays fairly much in the one location.

| Movie Review: Law Abiding Citizen |
|
Law Abiding Citizen
Director F. Gary Gray
Starring Gerard Butler, Jaime Foxx, Colm Meaney
Rated R
Release date: October 16, 2009 I love stupid mindless revenge movies. Man on Fire, Payback, Taken; pretty much any movie where a guy is driven to kill as many people as necessary in the name of some kind of justice. Most of these movies are not what I would call great movies, but when done well, they’re all fun, and they appeal to a certain part of me that wishes that the kind of uncompromising justice portrayed in these films would work in the real world. The realistic part of me understands that it wouldn’t, but who wouldn’t like to see righteous justice handed down to those who deserve it. Law Abiding Citizen is now resides in a warm place in my heart along with the rest of these films. Is it perfect? Hardly. Does it have plot holes you could drive a truck through? Definitely. Is it going to win any kind of awards? Certainly not. Did I have a fun time watching it? Hell yeah! And sometimes, that’s enough for me. In the film, Gerard Butler plays Clyde Shelton, a man who is forced to watch his wife and daughter brutally murdered in front of him, and then sees the justice system break down as the man who actually killed his family is given a reduced sentence so that callous District Attorney Nick Rice, played by Jaime Foxx, can keep his high conviction percentage. Unfortunately, Shelton is a very driven man who has the skill, intelligence, and determination to see his revenge through to the end. From there, we get the standard game of cat and mouse, as Clyde continually shows that he is smarter than Rice, as the bodies keep piling up in brutal fashion.
