Welcome first day of Fall 2021…. and with it come lots of new books! Last year, aka Pandemic Year 1, while self-isolating and staying indoors as much as possible, I threw myself into reading … print books, magazines, ebooks, and audiobooks. So while it was a stressful year on a whole (for all of us), I really enjoyed being able to prioritize reading. This year, what’s become Pandemic Year 2, I wanted to get outside a bit, but also continue to be on the safe side, which meant road-tripping and hiking the great outdoors. Therefore, I’ve leaned more towards audiobooks. Below are some titles — with accompanying links to the print, ebooks, and audiobooks editions — that I personally am looking forward to this Fall, presented here in order of release date, starting with those releasing in September 2021. After this main list, I’ve included some titles that came out earlier this year that you might have missed, as well as some themed Cookbooks, Crafts, and Guidebooks, along with an Audiobook Spotlight. And with the Fall comes, of course, Halloween and some spookier picks! Continue on to check out my Fall 2021 Book Recommendations…

Release Date: October 15, 2019 CBS is readying to launch in January a new streaming series, Star Trek: Picard, featuring Patrick Stewart‘s famed Starfleet officer Jean-Luc Picard. The actor led the cast of TV’s Star Trek: The Next Generation as the captain of the U.S.S. Enterprise for 7 seasons beginning in 1987 and then in 4 theatrical films, the final being in 2002’s Star Trek: Nemesis. To familiarize viewers with Jean-Luc Picard and the Star Trek: The Next Generation universe, CBS and Paramount have released Star Trek: Picard Movie & TV Collection, a new Blu-ray box set centering around the character. The 6-disc Blu-ray set includes all four feature films starring TNG cast — Star Trek: Generations, Star Trek: First Contact, Star Trek: Insurrection, Star Trek: Nemesis — as well as the scifi television show’s 2-part episode “The Best of Both Worlds.” If you don’t already own one of the previously released movie Blu-ray box sets, then this new Picard-centric package is the way to go as far as what you get for the price — and you get a lot.

| ‘Independence Day: Resurgence’ Video Answers Big Fan Question
After twenty long years, a sequel to 1996’s Independence Day is set to arrive in theaters in just a few days. Some familiar faces from the original movie have returned for the sequel, which is titled Independence Day: Resurgence, including Dr. Brackish Okun (played by Brent Spiner). There’s only one fairly large problem with that: most people watching ID4 back in ’96, myself included, thought that Dr. Okun met a most unpleasant demise after being used as a human ventriloquist puppet by one of the aliens. But as we’ve seen in the various trailers and TV spots for the movie, there he is, alive and well! But instead of making you wait to actually see the movie to find out how that’s possible, 20th Century Fox has released a new video that actually explains what happened to Dr. Okun. You can check it out below.
