Marvel characters are slowly entering Disneyland, as the acquisition of the massive comic-themed library of characters becomes realized in the theme park realm. What can we expect in the years to come? More importantly, what do we want to see?

This week’s Disney In Depth analyzes the many ways Marvel can integrate into the Disney parks without interfering with the themes and experiences we have come to appreciate in the Mickey Mouse universe.

D23 Expo 2013 may have concluded, but the fresh content releasing from the ultimate Disney event keeps on coming! Peek into Disney Consumer Products’ pavilion with me as I explore the cool exhibits featuring some of Disney’s most awesome acquisitions – Star Wars, Muppets, and Marvel!

The Walt Disney Studios’ upcoming slate of films is one to be reckoned with, a truly vast array of incredible experiences that will undoubtedly win over audiences. Having seen previews of most films on the 2014 schedule at the Disney D23 Expo, as well as even some to debut in 2015 and 2016, I can say this is an exciting time at the Studio.

Here are my thoughts on what I am most anticipating based on the amazing content I viewed.

Saving Mr. Banks marks the debut of a Disney film where its founder, Walt Disney, is depicted as a character, and attendees at the D23 Expo in Anaheim, CA, yesterday were among the first to watch scenes from the feature.

Jason Schwartzman and B.J. Novak, who play Richard and Robert Sherman, respectively, the brothers who wrote the songs to Mary Poppins, appeared at the Expo to share memories and footage.

The first scene showed Emma Thompson‘s P.L. Travers, the woman who wrote the book later adapted into the Mary Poppins film we all love, arriving at the Walt Disney Studios in Burbank, circa 1961.
