2014 may be complete, but the year’s impact will continue to mark all facets of The Walt Disney Company. The corporation’s hands in nearly all aspects of entertainment (film, television, theater, merchandise, theme parks, and music, among other forms) has experienced its shares of highs and lows. Let’s reflect on where and how Disney succeeded in 2014, as well as analyze components it could have improved.

The Muppets are back on the big screen, but does this “sequel” live up to the 2011 film that essentially ignited interest once again in the brand? While Muppets Most Wanted lacks the drama and overwhelming nostalgia of its predecessor, it more than makes up for that in laughs and smiles a plenty. The movie is insanely funny and astute, far from a film that you would want to imprison audiences from seeing.

While initial box office results are more disappointing and middling than encouraging – its opening weekend here in the United States totaled to a mere $17 million – I cannot think of any reason why moviegoers should avoid this genius blend of satire and parody in great Muppet form. It was evident in its marketing, and it translates to the actual film.

Muppets Most Wanted leaps into theaters some 28 months after the “revival” of the Muppets entity through the Jason Segel and Amy Adams film that sparked new interest in Kermit, our favorite felt friend. The March 21 release benefits from a keen and laugh-out-loud marketing campaign that integrates one of the brand’s best assets: smart humor.

The Muppets are gearing up for the release of their next feature film, Muppets Most Wanted, but they’re taking some time out of their busy schedule to send some St. Patrick’s Day greetings. You see, main Muppet Kermit The Frog usually laments about how it’s not easy being green, but this green-filled holiday is the one day where it’s actually is easy to be green!

You can see Kermit and his friends in the movie The Muppets on DVD and Blu-ray, and then in its sequel, Muppets Most Wanted, in theaters on March 21, 2014.

Will they or won’t they get married? That’s the question on everyone’s minds when it comes to the world-famous Muppets pair Kermit The Frog and Miss Piggy. The couple has been together for decades, repeatedly professing their love for one another, yet Piggy has had to resort to trickery several times in the past in an effort to get Kermit down the aisle. In 1984’s Muppets Take Manhattan, the couple seemingly tied the knot, but it seems the union was invalidity due to it being yet another one of Piggy’s schemes.

For the upcoming film Muppets Most Wanted, Piggy commissioned a dress from famous designer Vivienne Westwood, whose creation can be used as a wedding gown if Piggy can get Kermit to finally say “I do” for real this time around.
