Pixar has this incredible track record of releasing films that combine great storytelling with outstanding animation. For them, it’s always about the story that takes audiences to worlds they’ve never been to. Films like Inside Out and Coco have done that. And it looks like they have done it again with Soul from director Pete Docter, which stars Jamie Foxx and Tina Fey.

A teaser trailer has arrived today for the film. In it, audiences will be taken to a world where our personality and souls are developed long before we step foot on this earth. And there will be some catchy music to go along with it as globally renowned musician Jon Batiste is writing original jazz music for the film and Oscar winners Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross (The Social Network) are creating an original score. My recent trip to Pixar was not only exciting, it was also inspirational. The studio keeps coming up with innovative ways to tell these stories in bold new ways. One of those films will be Soul, from director and new Chief Creative Officer at Pixar Animation Studios Pete Docter.

Docter was on hand to present a little bit about the film to a full house on Saturday at the D23 Expo. And based on what he was able to share, this will be one of Pixar’s most cerebral films to date. See more below for our on-site coverage from D23.

Netflix has just launched the trailer for Season 2 of their Emmy-Award nominated series Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt, starring Ellie Kemper as the former bunker dweller, who after being held captive for a number of years, experiences life above ground – in a very hilarious way of course. The naivete of the character was quite endearing, as was the supporting cast of crazy characters. And now we get to see what Kimmy’s life will be like when she gets a job.

Based on the new trailer, which you can watch here below, Kimmy Schmidt is as hilariously innocent as she was in Season 1 — misusing phrases and social media terms, unable to tell a person’s gender, and getting a job at a 24-hour Christmas store. Kimmy’s roommate Titus (Tituss Burgess), landlady Lillian (Carol Kane), and former employer/debutante Jacqueline (Jane Krakowski) also return.

Paramount Pictures has released the second trailer for Glenn Ficarra and John Requa‘s Whiskey Tango Foxtrot starring Tina Fey as a war correspondent stationed in Afghanistan. Though war can be a bit of a touchy subject, there have been a few satires that have found the balance of making light of it while also bringing it to our attention an informative way. With this movie, though, the film happens is based on Kim Barker‘s wartime memoir The Taliban Shuffle: Strange Days in Afghanistan and Pakistan.

The trailer does have a rather short runtime, but in all honesty, I think it does get its point across about a journalist’s life in a war-torn country. Check out the trailer below.

Netflix has officially given the greenlight to new seasons for two of their original series.

The streaming service has announced that fans can expect both a second season of their Marvel series Jessica Jones starring Krysten Ritter, and also a third season of the Tina Fey produced comedy The Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt starring Ellie Kemper.
