| ’10 Cloverfield Lane’ Director Dan Trachtenberg To Helm Pilot For ‘The Boys’ Based On Garth Ennis, Darick Robertson Comic
We’ve been hearing about an adaptation of Garth Ennis and Darick Robertson‘s The Boys for quite some time now, but nothing ever came of it for many years. But that’s since changed. The Boys, which is set in a world where superheroes exist and follows a group of vigilantes who are called in to deal with said superheroes when they get out of line, is currently being adapted into a new series for Amazon. And now a director has been hired to help bring the pilot episode of that series to life. It’s being reported that Dan Trachtenberg (10 Cloverfield Lane, Black Mirror) has signed on to direct the first episode of the planned eight-episode first season.

After a few years of going to SDCC and then due to work and tickets being almost impossible to get, took a few years off, this year I was lucky enough to get a 4-day pass to NYCC. So, I packed my bags and headed to New York. I took tons of photos at the Con of the convention floor, panels, and, of course, the cosplay. Check it out here below in the image galleries. For the most part, my whole time at New York Comic-Con focused around Doctor Who and other BBC America shows. I got to see a panel with a decent Q&A with Matt Smith, Jenna Coleman, and Alex Kingston talking about their time on Doctor Who. I was also able to make it to The Theater at Madison Square Garden for the BBC America showcase, including a early screening of Dirk Gently’s Holistic Detective Agency, which I really enjoyed and will be watching once the season starts in a few weeks. I followed that with a Class and Doctor Who panels, giving us little teases of the upcoming series and the Christmas Special for Doctor Who, all about the super heroes.

| J.J. Abrams Says ’10 Cloverfield Lane’ “Is Very Purposefully Not Called ‘Cloverfield 2′”
So far we know that the Dan Trachtenberg-directed 10 Cloverfield Lane is a blood-relative to Cloverfield – which was directed by Matt Reeves. Producer J.J. Abrams made that abundantly clear when a surprise trailer made its debut in theaters alongside 13 Hours: The Secret Soldiers Of Benghazi earlier this year. But just sharing the name has a few thinking that the new film is a direct sequel to the 2008 sci-fi hit. Now Abrams wants to clear the air. Despite the fact that the two films share the same name, and the characters are in the same world as the first Cloverfield, 10 Cloverfield Lane is not “Cloverfield 2.” It’s just 10 Cloverfield Lane. Check out what he had to say here below.
