Jennifer Connelly

Once Darren Aronofsky’s Noah was greenlit, talks of who could be cast as Noah, his wife, and the villain began. Russell Crowe was attached and eventually signed on to play as the titular character. Liam Neeson was in talks to play as the villain, as was Liev Schreiber, and most recently Ray Winstone. But as to who could play Noah’s wife, the choice doesn’t come off as a complete surprise.

Jennifer Connelly was rumored to be in talks to play as Noah’s wife for a long time. Connelly has been in Aronofsky’s Requiem for a Dream and starred alongside Crowe as his wife in Ron Howard’s A Beautiful Mind, so she has experience with working with the two. Many of the previous reports went with the fact that she was in talks, considering she was one of the choices to play Noah’s wife. The other one being Julianne Moore.

Emma Watson

When Logan Lerman and Douglas Booth were cast in Darren Aronofsky‘s biblical epic, Noah, as Noah’s (played by Russell Crowe) sons, we learned that Liam Neeson was no longer being considered for the role of the villain and also that there was a love interest role for Noah’s older son, Shem (to be played by Lerman). Now we know who will be playing as his love interest and who might be Neeson’s replacement.

According to a report from Deadline, Harry Potter star Emma Watson is now in talks to play as the unnamed love interest for Shem. As for Neeson’s replacement, X-Men Origins: Wolverine star Liev Schreiber is now being considered to fill the role. Yeah, I am just as surprised as you to hear there will be a villain in the film. But according to the report, Schreiber is the top contender for the job.

Logan Lerman

A few more names are climbing aboard Darren Aronofsky’s Noah. Russell Crowe has already signed on to play as the titular character and Saorise Ronan and Jennifer Connelly are in for unknown roles, possibly as characters closely related to Noah. It is rumored that Connelly will play Noah’s wife. Now Deadline is reporting that Logan Lerman (Awake) and Douglas Booth (upcoming Romeo and Juliet) are signed up to play as Noah’s sons.

According to the report, Booth will play the younger son Shem, while Lerman will play as the elder sibling Ham. While we have confirmed a few more characters for Aronofsky’s biblical movie, we still don’t know what Ronan’s part is in all of this. The site says that there is a role for a love interest for Noah’s oldest son in the film, so there is a possibility that she could fulfill that role.

If it proves to be authentic the poster will confirm that the next movie is taking Marvel’s ageless, adamantium-clawed mutant to Japan for a storyline adapted from the early 1980’s comic miniseries by Chris Claremont and Frank Miller that will pit Logan against ninjas, samurai, and a lost love. It’s a stark and powerful teaser with Wolverine’s trademark claws slashing through the image of the flag and the tagline “Rising Soon” playing on the nation’s identity as the Land of the Rising Sun.

Ever since MGM announced several years back that they were putting a remake of the 1987 sci-fi action classic RoboCop into production not much progress has been made, which fans of the original film would see as a blessing. For a time Darren Aronofsky (The Fountain) was attached to direct the remake, but he moved on to other things. Most recently Brazilian filmmaker Jose Padilha (Elite Squad) was handed the reins of the RoboCop redux, and the director gave an interview to Comic Book Movie about his plans for the remake and what he hopes to accomplish by taking on a beloved genre film.

‘Walk The Line’ Director James Mangold Steps In For Darren Aronofsky On ‘The Wolverine’

As strange as it was to think that Darren Aronofsky—director behind indie hits like Requiem For A Dream, The Wrestler, and Black Swan—was going to direct a sequel to X–Men Origins: Wolverine, it was still pretty intriguing to think about. But alas, Aronofsky eventually had to drop out of the project due to personal reasons, leaving the job open for another…but would they be similar to the departing Aronofsky or someone more suited to the comic book/action genre a Wolverine movie would play in?

Enter James Mangold, the new director chosen by 20th Century Fox to direct the sequel, titled The Wolverine. Mangold’s résumé does include an action flick—the recent Tom Cruise and Cameron Diaz feature Knight & Day—but the rest of his works are mostly drama–based with titles like Cop Land, Kate & Leopold, Identity, 3:10 to Yuma, and Academy Award winners Girl, Interrupted and Walk the Line under his belt.
