| ‘Watchmen’ Star Patrick Wilson Cast As Villain In ‘Aquaman’
Warner Brothers and director James Wan have found a villain to do battle with star Jason Momoa in the upcoming DC Extended Universe movie Aquaman. It’s being reported that Watchmen, The Conjuring, and Insidious star Patrick Wilson has joined the cast. Wilson is set to play Orm Marius, also known as Ocean Master, one of Aquaman’s greatest enemies who also happens to be his half-brother.

| Jason Momoa’s King Of Atlantis Will Battle Black Manta In ‘Aquaman’
Suicide Squad is out and kicking butt at the box office despite withering reviews. Wonder Woman is in post-production and expected to be one of the big blockbusters of next summer. Justice League is still filming and hopes to pack theaters and reap riches the following November. Next on deck is Aquaman, which has yet to begin filming under the direction of James Wan (The Conjuring, Furious 7) but is locking up a fine cast headed by star Jason Momoa (who makes his screen debut as DC Comics’ Atlantean warrior king in Justice League). Now it has been revealed which villain Aquaman will oppose in his first big screen solo adventure: Black Manta, one of Arthur Curry’s greatest foes. More below.

| Superman Lives! ‘Man Of Steel’ Sequel Reportedly In Development At Warner Bros.
Three years after it launched DC Comics’ cinematic universe with a $668 million global box office gross, the Zack Snyder-directed Superman reboot Man of Steel is finally getting a standalone sequel, as an unnamed source familiar with the developing film at Warner Bros. told Umberto Gonzalez at The Wrap. Plans for a sequel were changed not long after Man of Steel was released in the summer of 2013 when Snyder announced at that year’s San Diego Comic-Con that the follow-up would pit Superman against Batman. The end result, released this past March, was Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, which also featured the first appearance of Wonder Woman, Aquaman, the Flash, and Cyborg.

| ‘Justice League’: Ben Affleck Steps Into Executive Producer Role
In addition to his central role as Batman, Ben Affleck is fast becoming one of the critical creative forces behind the camera in the DC Cinematic Universe. He reportedly performed on-set rewrites of the Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice script and will also be writing the future solo Batman movie (rumored to be titled The Batman) as well as directing the project. Recently, the multi-talented Affleck earned himself another hat to wear as he has taken on the role of executive producer on next year’s Justice League Part I, in which he is also obviously returning as Batman.

| New ‘Suicide Squad’ Trailer Premieres During MTV Movie Awards
Warner Bros.’ next major DC Comics movie event Suicide Squad, a full-throttle action picture built around the premise of a group of supervillains being recruited by the government to take on dangerous assignments they can also be blamed for in case anything goes horribly wrong, recently entered a round of reshoots in an effort by the studio to add some fun and humor to what was shaping up to be a pretty grim flick. The studio unveiled a new fast-paced trailer for the film during Sunday night’s MTV Movie Awards 2016. You can watch it here below.
