The Walking Dead
The Complete Season 5
Blu-ray | DVD
Starring Andrew Lincoln, Steven Yuen, Norman Reedus, Lauren Cohan, Chandler Riggs, Danai Gurira, Melissa McBride, Emily Kinney
Anchor Bay Entertainment
Release date: August 25, 2015 The end of March also brought the end to Season 5 of AMC’s hit drama The Walking Dead, and in just a few weeks, Season 6 will be starting up. If you’re not caught up on the show, now’s the perfect time to do so, as Anchor Bay Entertainment has just released The Walking Dead: The Complete Fifth Season on DVD and Blu-ray, both of which contain all 16 episodes of the season on five discs, along with plenty of bonus features. The Walking Dead centers on a group of survivors of a zombie apocalypse in Georgia who band together as a family and find safety in numbers, first at a campsite, then at a kindly doctor’s farm, and eventually in an abandoned prison. Led by sheriff’s deputy Rick Grimes (Andrew Lincoln), over time the group not only hones their survival skills, but they learn to use weapons to fight the “Walkers” — those infected by the zombie virus, who then return from the dead as mindless creatures whose sole instinct is to feast on human flesh. Once Rick and his community, which over the course of the series had seen growth spurts as well as many sad deaths, found the prison, it seemed as though they finally had a safe haven they could settle in. But as we know, all good things must come to an end, especially in a world where survival of the fittest has never been more true.

The Flash
Season 1 Episode 18: “All Star Team Up”
Directed by Kevin Tancharoen
Written by Grainne Godfree and Kai Yu Wu
Starring Grant Gustin, Jesse L. Martin, Danielle Panabaker, Rick Cosnett, Candice Patton, Carlos Valdez, Tom Cavanagh
The CW
Air Date: Tuesday, April 14th, 2015, 8:00pm The Flash! Oh how we’ve missed you the last two weeks! We did have awesome videos to console us like “Superhero Fight Club,” an inside look at this episode, and even got a little preview of “All Star Team Up”. Last week we got a mega geek treat with Mark Hammil as the Trickster. We all swooned when he told his protege, “I am your father.” On top of that, the Master-Padawan moment I referenced was Dr. Wells (Tom Cavanagh) guiding Barry (Grant Gustin) on how to get to a speed to pass through solid objects, and all but said, “Feel the Force.” This led Barry to be sure that he was the Reverse Flash. Flashback to the night Barry’s mom was killed. Dr. Wells is… not Dr. Wells? We see the entire ugliness. Happy Dr. Wells was run off the road, his wife Tess died, Reverse Flash sucked the life out of him and assumed his identity, all because he got locked in the past after murdering Barry’s mom. The Flash 1.18 “All Star Team Up” review: The verdict? This episode is deserving of the mega-buildup it generated. Each millisecond was hypnotizing.

The Walking Dead returned to AMC last night with the Season 4 mid-season premiere. It was a long wait since the mid-season finale aired back in December, but unfortunately, in this newest installment we didn’t get to see what happened to all the main characters after the prison standoff. See here below for a quick sneak peek of the next episode, Episode 410 “Inmates,” which airs on Sunday night, February 16, 2014 at 9/8c. The minute-plus video centers on Daryl (Norman Reedus) and Beth (Emily Kinney) after their escape from the prison.
