| Martin Scorsese, Nathan Fillion, Simon Pegg Join ‘World War Z’ Expanded Audio Book Cast |
 |

No doubt intended to coincide with the forthcoming summer release of the troubled big-budget movie with Brad Pitt, the audio book adaptation of Max Brooks‘ best-selling horror classic World War Z is getting an expanded release this year, and the project is attracting some major celebrity names to the fold – including a few surprises. World War Z: The Complete Edition will include five more hours of stories from Brooks’ highly influential book that has been considered to be one of the greatest stories of apocalyptic zombie terror ever told. Among the new cast members lending their voices to this unabridged version will be actor and rapper Common (American Gangster), actor Alfred Molina (Spider-Man 2), writer-director Frank Darabont (The Shawshank Redemption), Firefly/Castle star Nathan Fillion, actor/screenwriter Simon Pegg (Shaun of the Dead), and most surprisingly of all, Oscar-winner and filmmaking giant Martin Scorsese.

Last month we found out that Frank Darabont, the creator (and eventually fired showrunner) of AMC’s The Walking Dead and director of The Shawshank Redemption and The Green Mile, would be rewriting the script for Legendary Pictures’ reboot of Godzilla. | Like Frank Darabont Before Him, ‘The Walking Dead’ Showrunner Glen Mazzara Was Fired … But Why? |
 |

Fans were shocked when they found out that the departure of Frank Darabont after the wildly successful first season of AMC’s The Walking Dead was in fact a firing. People weren’t thrilled, and the cast was evidently bothered by the situation, with rumors swirling of threats by the network that any one of them could easily be killed off on this particular show if they spoke up in support of Darabont and against AMC. Judging by how good the show has been since then, taking a path more faithful to the ultra-popular source comic series by Robert Kirkman, it’s debatable whether or not removing Darabont was ultimately a good move or not. Most of us will likely never know how differently things played out compared to however they may have been planned earlier. But then came word that Glen Mazzara—the man who stepped into the role of showrunner after the firing of Darabont—was stepping down from his position in an eerily similar fashion to Darabont’s departure, instantly emitting a distinctly fishy odor. Now comes word, as many of us had already assumed, that Mazzara too was fired. But why was he fired? New information may hold the answer.

| Frank Darabont To Rewrite ‘Godzilla’ Script While The Studio Battles Producers
The Godzilla reboot is progressively coming along. The film, which is directed by Gareth Edwards, is due to hit theaters on May 16, 2014. But like most films in very early development, there are bound to be a few shakeups within the creative team. First, Deadline reports that former Walking Dead writer Frank Darabont has been brought in to polish the draft penned by Max Borenstein (Seventh Son) and Drew Pearce (Iron Man 3). Even though Darabont has been hired to polish the script, a feud between two departing producers and Legendary Pictures could possibly delay the film’s release.
