Showrunners: The Art of Running a TV Show Trailer

The TV business is harsh and unforgiving. Even when all the steps are taken to get a show made, they often fail and find themselves canceled…sometimes before even getting a fair enough shot to grow their fanbase. And when a show does fail, most of the blame falls on the showrunner. Even when shows are a smashing success, such as AMC’s The Walking Dead, the job of showrunner can prove to be a daunting task.

A new documentary titled Showrunners: The Art of Running a TV Show is on the way, and aims to shine a light on one of the more challenging jobs in the entertainment industry. In it, a veritable who’s who of top TV showrunners talk about their work, including J.J. Abrams, Joss Whedon, Damon Lindelof, Terence Winter, Ronald D. Moore, and many more.

A trailer for the documentary has been released, and you can check it out below.

Star Wars: A New Hope Stormtroopers

About this time last month, we started to see some revealing new concept images of Han Solo and the starships of J.J. AbramsStar Wars: Episode VII. We also saw that the Stormtroopers would look slightly different than the standard ones we saw in episodes IVVI. Leaked images from the sky above have also hit the web. Then there was the Omaze online charity campaign, where we saw our first look at the new X-Wing and practical effects. And if that wasn’t enough to get you excited, Bad Robot is engaging in a playful Twitter war with Zack Snyder’s Batman V Superman: Dawn Of Justice.

But despite the Omaze campaign and the leaked images, we still don’t know much about the film. We do know that the vital characters from the original will return to reprise their roles. But as to what will cause a disturbance in the force this time, that remains to be seen. Until then, we will be getting more leaked images. A new set of leaked concept art has just hit the web, and it shows that the stormtroopers could be sporting a sleek chrome look. In fact they are being called Chrome Troopers. Hit the jump to check it out.

Star Wars Stormtrooper and Batmobile from Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice

Over the past couple of months, Star Wars: Episode VII director J.J. Abrams and his Bad Robot Twitter account have been going back and forth with Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice director Zack Snyder and his Twitter account with crossovers of the Star Wars and DC Comics worlds.

Up until now it had just been some fun images (which you can check out right here), but today Star Wars grabbed the upper hand and raised the stakes, releasing a very cool video of the Millennium Falcon with a little added surprise and an epic score to accompany the video.

Darth Vader In The Death Star

Director J.J. Abrams has made it a hobby to leave little nods and hints in images and videos he’s posted on the Bad Robot Twitter feed, that may or may not indicate things we might see in Star Wars: Episode VII.

In one of the latest images posted—a simple handwritten note making a joke about the new watch Apple just announced recently—Star Wars fans will recognize a very familiar pattern in the background.

Check out the image below.

J.J. Abrams With Star Wars: Episode VII X-Wing

Normally set photos don’t tell us much besides giving us a behind the scenes look at a production of a film. These photos are a dime a dozen, and generally come from pedestrians or production crew who were given the social media green light. But when it comes to set photos for Star Wars: Episode VII, it’s something that should be turning heads.

We already know that J.J. Abrams will be using practical effects for the highly anticipated film, meaning there won’t be as much CGI, and iconic ships like the Millennium Falcon and X-Wing fighters will be built from the ground up. But with these sets closely guarded from prying eyes, it will be hard for set photos to be leaked. Unless you are taking these photos from the sky above. A flight school managed to discover where these two ships are being built, and took a photo of them. Hit the jump to check it out.
