| ’10 Cloverfield Lane’ Director Dan Trachtenberg To Helm Pilot For ‘The Boys’ Based On Garth Ennis, Darick Robertson Comic
We’ve been hearing about an adaptation of Garth Ennis and Darick Robertson‘s The Boys for quite some time now, but nothing ever came of it for many years. But that’s since changed. The Boys, which is set in a world where superheroes exist and follows a group of vigilantes who are called in to deal with said superheroes when they get out of line, is currently being adapted into a new series for Amazon. And now a director has been hired to help bring the pilot episode of that series to life. It’s being reported that Dan Trachtenberg (10 Cloverfield Lane, Black Mirror) has signed on to direct the first episode of the planned eight-episode first season.

| ‘Rampage’: Trailer For Dwayne Johnson’s Arcade Game Monster Movie Released
Warner Bros. Pictures has released the first trailer for New Line Cinema’s Rampage, which stars Dwayne Johnson, Naomie Harris, Jeffrey Dean Morgan, Malin Akerman, Joe Manganiello, Jake Lacy, Marley Shelton, P.J. Byrne, Jack Quaid, and Matt Gerald, and is directed by Brad Peyton. The movie is based on the classic arcade game of the same name, in which players took control of giant monsters and attempted to do as much damage to cities as possible. | HBO Orders ‘Vinyl’ Season 2
HBO’s latest original series, Vinyl, debuted this past Sunday, and now the network has announced that they have ordered a second season. This first season will consist of ten episodes total. The series comes from Martin Scorsese (The Wolf of Wall Street, The Departed) and Terence Winter (The Sopranos), the duo behind HBO’s Boardwalk Empire, as well as The Rolling Stones frontman Mick Jagger and Rich Cohen (Magic City).

| Elizabeth Banks & Many More Round Out ‘The Hunger Games’ Cast
The lead roles for the movie adaptation of Suzanne Collins‘ popular novel, The Hunger Games, were taken care of early with Academy Award nominee Jennifer Lawrence set to play Katniss Everdeen and Josh Hutcherson and Liam Hemsworth locked in for the roles of Peeta Mellark and Gale Hawthorne. Since the leads were cast, the team working on the movie have been very busy bringing together a bunch of supporting actors to solidify the cast. A short time ago it was reported that Elizabeth Banks (The 40-Year-Old Virgin, Zack and Miri Make A Porno) was in talks to play Effie Trinket, the eventual handler of Lawrence’s Katniss. The talks have now been sorted out, and Banks has been officially confirmed for the role.
