Release Date: April 5, 2016 Star Wars: The Force Awakens began as my most anticipated movie of 2015 and ended being my favorite film of the year. While seeing director J.J. Abrams‘ newest installment in the Star Wars franchise in IMAX was a delight, viewing the film in Blu-ray at home multiple times was just as entertaining. Matter of fact, since the Blu-ray Combo Pack comes with a Digital HD copy, I also enjoyed viewing it on my iPhone. Written by Lawrence Kasdan, J.J. Abrams, and Michael Arndt, the new film takes place 30 years after the events of Return of the Jedi, the final film in George Lucas’ original trilogy that saw the Rebel Alliance finally overthrow the Empire. Han Solo (Harrison Ford) is still flying around hustling his way through the galaxy with his trusty co-pilot and friend Chewbacca (Peter Mayhew), while his love Leia Organa (Carrie Fisher) leads a small resistance group against The First Order, an offshoot of the Empire backed by a Darth Vader-obsessed Sith named Kylo Ren (Adam Driver).

Abrams, Stephen King, and James Franco, fans are in for a treat. Check out that trailer and the other two previously released teaser trailers below.

| ‘Star Wars: The Force Awakens’ Scribes Talk R2-D2’s Critical Role & Script Evolution |

If you haven’t seen Star Wars: The Force Awakens yet, then I suggest you turn back now, because this new report about how the script changed from its inception to now will reveal a critical SPOILER. One of the major criticisms of the film was how convenient it was for the characters at the right place at the right time. The Force Awakens blends the old generation with the new, and what J.J. Abrams, Lawrence Kasdan, and Michael Arndt did was they had the characters from the old trilogy reprise their respective roles. Even the droids came back. But given that there is so much mystery wrapped around this film, we didn’t know how much of a role C-3PO or R2-D2 had. We hadn’t seen much of the droids except in the trailers, but now the writers are revealing R2-D2’s mystery role, as well as a few others. Again, SPOILERS ahead, so now is your chance to turn back. Check out what they had to say here below.
