RELEASE DATE: August 17, 2012 Before a movie adaptation of The Hunger Games was announced, I knew not one thing about it, not even the title. Going into finally seeing the movie for myself, I knew it was based on a wildly popular book series and whatever small story and character tidbits picked up while writing about various casting news and such. This is how I prefer going into any movie, whether it be an adaptation or sequel or completely original, so that there is no expectation whatsoever. The premise is simple, yet also quite brutal. After an apocalyptic event transforms North America, a wealthy government called the Capitol takes total control over the less-wealthy people and forms them into thirteen districts. After an uprising by the people ultimately results in the destruction of one of the districts, an unthinkable punishment is put into effect to keep everyone in check: each year, one boy and one girl ages 12-18 from each of the twelve districts will be selected at random to compete in the Hunger Games, where all 24 will fight to the death until only one remains.

| Watch This Trailer For Dan Bradley’s Remake Of ‘Red Dawn’ |
 |

Since the Red Dawn remake was finished two years ago, Josh Hutcherson became a participant of The Hunger Games, Chris Hemsworth became a humbled hammer-wielding demi-god and a member of The Avengers, Jeffery Dean Morgan became a hotel owner mixed up in mob affairs, and Adraianne Palicki became a member of G.I. Joe. But before all of that, they were Wolverines and after seeing a couple of promotional images, we now have our first trailer for Red Dawn. And you know what, it doesn’t look half bad, even if the film had been shelved for two years. Check it out below. Like the first Red Dawn film, this remake centers on a group of youthful citizens and a capable soldier as they fight to regain control of their small town from the hands of international enemies, in this case, it’s the North Koreans. As you can see, they will be severely out numbered, out classed, and out gunned, but that won’t stop them. Based on the trailer alone, the new Red Dawn looks like one of those fun popcorn action flicks.

| ‘Red Dawn’ Poster: Introducing The New Generation Of Wolverines |
 |

What a difference a couple of years make. After sitting on a shelf for the better part of two years, the remake of Red Dawn hits theaters this Thanksgiving. The film features a new generation of American’s youth defending their land against the forces of the North Koreans. Originally the film’s antagonists were the Chinese, but the film was digitally altered so that the antagonists would be North Koreans. We previously posted two new images from the film, and now we got our first look at the poster for Red Dawn, which looks like one of the options you would see on an instagram photo. Check it out below. As you can see, MGM and Open Road are slowly pushing out the promotional material for the film. With this poster, this brings out print promotions to a grand total of four (the header image above, the two images, and now this poster). So if you are tired of photos and are just itching to see a trailer for the film, then you’re in luck, because the first trailer for the Red Dawn remake premieres tomorrow.
