| James Bobin To Direct ‘Men In Black’ & ‘Jump Street’ Crossover ‘MiB 23’
As first reported in December 2014 when the Sony e-mail hacks was the biggest news story, there was word that the studio wanted to do a crossover with two of their most lucrative franchises, Men in Black and the Jump Street. Those discussions became a reality when Phil Lord and Chris Miller expressed their intrigue at the idea. The idea was to have Channing Tatum and Jonah Hill reprise their respective roles for a sequel that would take aim at shared universes. But with Lord and Miller now directing the untitled young Han Solo Star Wars spinoff starring Alden Ehrenreich, the crossover would have to find a new director. While on the international press tour for Alice Through The Looking Glass, director James Bobin (The Muppets) confirmed that he will be the one to direct the crossover sequel, which will be titled MiB 23. More on the story below.

| New ‘Men In Black’ Trilogy In The WorksRight out of the gate Sony has shown interest in bringing back Men in Black as a trilogy. The original film was a huge success, but it would be five years before Men in Black II was released, and another 10 years before Men in Black III would hit theaters. It doesn’t seem like the studio will repeat the same process anytime soon, and have turned to married producers Walter Parkes and Laurie MacDonald to relaunch the franchise as a trilogy. But it doesn’t look like Will Smith will be returning in any sort of capacity, producing or otherwise. More on this story below.

| ‘Broad City’ Writers To Pen ‘Jump Street’ Female Spinoff; ‘Men In Black’ Spinoff Still Being DiscussedThe thought of 21 Jump Street and Men In Black crossing over may have sounded like a crazy idea at first, but those leaked e-mails have confirmed such talks are being discussed. With studios jumping in to make almost every franchise they own a shared universe, crossing over Jump Street and MIB would be a great way to share and expand. A report from The Wrap says that Sony is working on expanding the Jump Street franchise with a female spinoff, while Jonah Hill and Channing Tatum are working on the MIB crossover side.

| ’21 Jump Street’ and ‘Men In Black’ Crossover Is Actually Being Discussed |
|
If anything Chris Miller and Phil Lord should be on the top of Sony’s list to direct The Amazing Spider-Man 3. They are the ones to go to if you want to turn a genuinely bad idea into a thriving franchise. But given the current situation with Spider-Man, that might not actually happen. Which is a good thing, because it gives the two the opportunity to work on a preposterous idea like mashing the 21 Jump Street franchise with the Men in Black franchise. Sounds completely out of this world, but if you want to get something like that done right, you definitely talk to Lord and Miller about it. While it sounds like something Internet rumors would cook up, it actually came from one of the leaked e-mails during the Sony hack last month. Now seems that Miller and Lord are actually intrigued by the idea, and are addressing those rumors for a possible film. Below is a video of Lord and Miller talking to MTV about the Sony hack, the 21 Jump Street/Men In Black crossover, and more.
