For those Marvel fans who cannot live with the fact that Avatar is still the highest grossing film of all-time, you have another chance to help give Avengers: Endgame the boost it needs to pass James Cameron’s film.

Marvel Studios’ latest is only $45 million shy of crossing Avatar‘s 2.787 billion worldwide. And just to be sure that the re-release isn’t just the same cut of the film that came out way back in late April, there will be some additions to the newest cut of Avengers: Endgame, namely extra footage that never made it in the original cut and a tribute. Marvel Studios’ Avengers: Endgame has broken all sorts of box office records having grossed over $2.2 billion in the 13 days since it was released. So many that it has surpassed James Cameron‘s Titanic ($2.1 billion worldwide).

While Cameron has gone on record about how superhero movies are played out, the director displayed a very gracious gesture by congratulating Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige on accomplishing this rare achievement. Check out the tweet that Cameron sent out below.

Since Disney acquired 20th Century Fox, the Mouse House’s theatrical release schedule has been significantly updated. Now the studio will be responsible for the release of all of the upcoming Fox films like Dark Phoenix, Stuber, Spies in Disguise, and much more. While some of the bigger films will stick with their current dates, others like The New Mutants will be doing some shifting to later ones.

Additionally, Disney has announced release dates for untitled Marvel Studio films, the future of Star Wars after Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker, and the Avatar sequels. You can find all of the dates below.

Avengers: Endgame is quickly showing how much of a box office powerhouse it has become since it opened 12 days ago. After it debuted to a very impressive $1.2 billion worldwide, the film continued its dominance at the theaters, overshadowing the likes of newcomers like Long Shot, The Intruder, and Uglydolls. Not only that, but it’s reached $2 billion faster than any other movie; only four other films have made that rare accomplishment. Disney released a tiny movie some of you may have heard about over the weekend. It’s called Avengers: Endgame. After 11 years and 21 films, it has come down to this one movie that simply smashed box office records. Having seen it four times already, I can tell you that it is one of the best movie-going experiences I have had in a very long time. Watching the press screening is one thing, but watching it with the general public is something else.

And it shows, as Avengers: Endgame was not only the number one film this weekend, taking in $350 million domestically, but also smashed a few other records in the process such as the biggest opening day and weekend, which were previously held by films like The Force Awakens and Avengers: Infinity War.
