Of the many exciting new titles that will be arriving in the next few years from Marvel Studios, the one that I am looking forward to the most is Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings. The film sees Simu Liu (Kim’s Convenience) as the title character who will fight the Ten Rings – the mysterious terrorist organization who kidnapped Tony Stark in the first Iron Man, had its name used in a sham in Iron Man 3, and partially revealed itself in the Iron Man one-shot “All Hail the King.”

While it is way too early to reveal too many details, director Destin Daniel Cretton is talking more about the film, what it represents, and hiring Bill Pope as the film’s cinematographer. More on all of this below.

Marvel Television shared some teasers and surprises with fans at Hulu’s Runaways panel at New York Comic-Con on Friday. In addition to showing an exclusive screening of the third season premiere over two months in advance of its release, Marvel TV Head Jeph Loeb shared the extent of the Cloak & Dagger crossover event as well as some tidbits from the upcoming season.

Fans watched as the cast and crew graced the stage for a panel discussion held in the Hulu Theater at Madison Square Garden. Alongside Loeb were series stars Rhenzy Feliz, Lyrica Okano, Virginia Gardner, Ariela Barer, Gregg Sulkin, Allegra Acosta, and executive producers Josh Schwartz and Stephanie Savage of The OC fame.

Though it started to look like Spider-Man would be going back to Sony after their partnership with Disney came to a crashing end, a surprising deal was able to save the webslinger from the corporate snap that would have dusted the character from the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

Though both parties agreed on new terms, it was who brought them together that made it all happen. According to new reports, it was Spider-Man: Homecoming and Spider-Man: Far From Home star Tom Holland‘s last-minute heroics that were able to save Spidey from being lost to the MCU. It’s being reported that Kevin Feige, the president of Marvel Studios who has overseen the massive Marvel Cinematic Universe, is now developing a new Star Wars movie with Lucasfilm president Kathleen Kennedy. In addition to developing the feature, Feige will also produce.

There’s no doubt that Spider-Man fans were holding on to the hope that Sony and Disney could find some sort of common ground after they broke up. Sony seemed to place the blame on Disney for being too greedy, while star Tom Holland remained optimistic about the situation.

However, at a recent entertainment summit, Sony Pictures CEO Tony Vinciquerra said “for the moment the door is closed.” More on the report below.
