If the addition of a one Mel Gibson wasn’t intriguing enough for you, director Robert Rodriguez has announced that he has also cast tabloid magnet Charlie Sheen in his upcoming sequel, Machete Kills.

Rodriguez made the announcement via the Twitter, where he also revealed that Sheen would actually be playing the President of the United States of America (which feels strangely fitting, no?).

In a strange bit of casting news, it’s being reported that none other than Mel Gibson has entered into “serious discussions” for a role in the upcoming sequel to 2010’s Machete, which will be titled Machete Kills.

Nothing is know about who Gibson might play, only that it would a supporting role.

Sure, the past few years haven’t been great to one Mel Gibson, but hopefully a return to the genre that he lived in for most of his career, the action film, will be just what the doctor ordered.

RecentMoviePosters has the first poster for Gibson’s next film, How I Spent My Summer Vacation, and while it’s not much to look at, at least its something.

It’s about a man (Mel Gibson directed by Jodie Foster) who is so incredibly depressed that everything in his life – wife, kids, job – falls away and the only way he can cope is by communicating through a hand puppet in the shape of a wild animal. There is a worry that Jodie Foster‘s Beaver is unlikely to appeal to many.
