‘Supergirl’ Recast: Laura Benanti Out As Alura And ‘Smallville’ Alum In
Supergirl announced Friday that Laura Benanti would not be returning as Kara Danvers aka Supergirl’s birth mother, Alura Zor-El, in the upcoming 3rd season. Benanti also played General Astra, twin sister of the deceased Alura and sort of enemy of Supergirl (Melissa Benoist). Erica Durance, who played Lois Lane in the Superman series, Smallville, will take over the recurring role.

Monday night on Supergirl, Tuesday night on The Flash, and last night on Arrow‘s 100th episode, The CW and the Guggenheim/Berlanti/Kreisberg empire brought us the first 3 episodes of the most ambitious crossover yet. Concluding tonight on DC’s Legends of Tomorrow, the heroes and legends are trying to stop the Dominators, a creepy alien race bent on destroying Earth. After Barry Allen and Cisco (Grant Gustin, Carlos Valdes) reached out to Supergirl (Melissa Benoist) for help, Team Arrow, Team Flash, and the Legends joined forces to fight them. Some had been mind-controlled to attack each other, but good prevailed, some were kidnapped and put in a happy stasis dream state and then rescued. What happened tonight? Read on!

The CW Crossover: Heroes vs Aliens – The Dominators (Videos)
In what looks to be part Independence Day, part War of the Worlds, part V, part Superman, part everything you’ve always wanted in a superhero/alien movie, The CW is going for it. Touched upon in the last couple of minutes of Supergirl last night, when Barry Allen and Cisco Ramon (Grant Gustin, Carlos Valdes) popped up in Kara’s (Melissa Benoist) living room through a wormhole asking for help, tonight is when it seems the whole gang will get together. ‘The Flash’ and ‘Supergirl’ To Do Musical Crossover!
I knew it!!!!
Ever since Melissa Benoist was cast as Supergirl, I have been hoping for a musical episode with Grant Gustin of The Flash. It looks like my dream of dreams is about to come true. It was announced at the Television Critic’s Association Press Tour today that the 2 shows will have a musical crossover, on top the 4-show crossover they will do with Arrow and DC’s Legends of Tomorrow. This will be the musical icing on top of the crossover cake.
