The first reviews of Pan’s Labyrinth and Crimson Peak director Guillermo del Toro latest title The Shape of Water have begun showing up today, and things are looking very promising. There’s been 14 early reviews entered on Rotten Tomatoes thus far, and the movie is currently sitting at 100%.

To go along with the exciting start Fox Searchlight has released a clip from the movie, which stars Sally Hawkins, Octavia Spencer, Michael Shannon, Richard Jenkins, Michael Stuhlbarg, and Doug Jones, titled “Lab Encounter.”

The problem with Guillermo del Toro‘s Crimson Peak wasn’t so much about the film as how it was marketed. While it was a gothic romance thriller, the marketing seemed to emphasize that it was a horror. So how do you fix that problem with the filmmaker’s newest movie, The Shape Of Water? Just be straightforward with what it is, of course.

Del Toro’s twisted romance fantasy centers on a mute young woman who works at a top secret government facility where a gilled-man is currently being experimented on. Though they cannot speak to each other and are a different species, they feel an instant connection. Soon it becomes a race against time to help rescue the creature as the experiments are becoming painfully severe.

The latest from Pan’s Labyrinth and Pacific Rim director Guillermo del Toro, titled The Shape of Water, has been given a release date.

Fox Searchlight has settled on a date in the midst of awards season, locking in December 8, 2017 for the movie. The Shape of Water is set in 1963 Cold War-era America, and the story deals with the discovery of secret experiment at a high-security government lab.

Today marks the release of Doctor Strange on Blu-ray Combo Pack, 3D Blu-ray Combo Pack, DVD, and Digital HD, and aside from the DVD Edition, all the others come packed with Bonus Features. Now that this 14th film in the highly successful Marvel Cinematic Universe is out, fans will likely be anxiously awaiting a chance to view the bonus features. With each film being a different genre, they all have their own special behind-the-scenes featurettes, even though they are a part of the same shared universe. In addition to the behind-the-scenes features, there are also gag reels, deleted scenes, and a sneak peek of Avengers: Infinity War. Now that the Oscar nominations have been announced, studios will be making an effort to get audiences to watch some of the films that have earned nominations in some of the top categories.

One move that they generally do is to re-release a film in theaters for a limited time. It’s been done many times before, and Paramount will do it for Arrival. The Denis Villeneuve sci-fi film has been nominated for eight Academy Awards, including Best Picture. However, it managed to snub Amy Adams, for whatever reason I cannot figure out why.
